What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a computer-based, closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. Questions are scenario and situation based across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and you have four hours (240 minutes) to complete it. The questions are distributed across the five portfolio management performance domains defined in the PfMP Examination Content Outline.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PfMP exam?

You must meet one of three sets: a secondary diploma with 84 months of portfolio experience, or a four-year degree with 48 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 36 months, each alongside 120 months of business experience within the last 15 years, plus the panel review.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What happens if I do not pass the exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our prep resources, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence; confirm current fees with PMI.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?
