Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

Take Fundamentals if you are new to Primavera P6 or use it occasionally and want a solid foundation in scheduling, relationships, resources and baselines. Take Advanced if you already use P6 and want to master resource and cost loading, earned value, Claim Digger, multi-project management and custom reporting.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. The course is a practical skills course with no external examination, so learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Primavera P6 exercises throughout.

Is there an exam for Primavera P6 training?

No. This is a non-examination skills course at both the Fundamentals and Advanced levels. Instead of a test, learning is built and reinforced through live, hands-on Primavera P6 exercises using realistic project scenarios so you gain practical, job-ready proficiency.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. You follow along in Primavera P6 as the trainer demonstrates each feature, then complete practical exercises on realistic project scenarios. This applied, learn-by-doing approach lets you build and check your own P6 skills throughout the programme.

What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

You will be able to navigate P6, build the enterprise project structure and WBS, create activities and relationships, run the scheduler, interpret the critical path and float, assign resources, set the baseline, update progress and produce basic layouts and reports.

What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

You will be able to cost-load and resource-load a schedule, calculate and report earned value, use Claim Digger to compare schedules, manage multiple projects with cross-project relationships and enterprise resources, and build custom layouts and reports exported to Excel.

Are prerequisites needed to take the training?

The Fundamentals level has no formal prerequisites, though basic project management familiarity helps. For the Advanced level you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Primavera P6 experience before attending.

What topics are covered in Primavera P6 training?

Fundamentals covers the enterprise project structure, WBS, activities, relationships, scheduling, the critical path, resources, baselines and progress. Advanced covers resource and cost loading, earned value, baseline and Claim Digger comparison, multi-project management and custom reporting.

How long is each level of the training?

Fundamentals is delivered over 2 days, totalling 16 hours, and Advanced over 3 days, totalling 24 hours. Both are available as full-day sessions or extended half-day formats. You can attend either level independently or take both in sequence.

Is the training hands-on or theory based?

It is highly hands-on. Every module is taught with live Primavera P6 exercises built on realistic construction, engineering and capital-project scenarios, so you practise each feature and workflow in the software rather than only hearing about it.

Which version of Primavera P6 does the course use?

The training is based on the current Oracle Primavera P6 release, covering both Primavera P6 Professional, the desktop client, and Primavera P6 EPPM, the web-based enterprise edition. A learning advisor can confirm the exact software version used before you enrol.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. The Fundamentals level is designed for people who are new to Primavera P6 or use it only occasionally, with no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic project concepts such as activities, dependencies and resources is helpful but not required.
