Is PMP required before PgMP?

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions are distributed across five performance domains and delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or a test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice formats, and you may take up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The 4th edition Standard for Program Management is the primary reference framework.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam; both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our training includes practice questions and mock exams so you can build readiness before you sit the exam.

Do I need prior experience to take PgMP training?

PMI offers three sets: with a secondary diploma, 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP plus 84 months of programme experience; with a bachelor's degree, 48 months plus 48 months; and with a GAC-accredited degree, 36 months plus 36 months, all within the past 15 years.
