What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

It is an open-book, scenario-based objective test. The PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted, and questions require analysis and judgment rather than simple recall, so you cannot just look up answers.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and you have 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) to complete it. It is delivered online with PeopleCert OnVUE proctoring, available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre.

What is the passing score for PRINCE2 Practitioner?

You need 60% to pass, which is 42 out of 70 marks. The exam is based on the PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus, so aim for broad mastery across all nine syllabus areas.

What are the prerequisites for the Practitioner exam?

You need PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A, B, C or D. Verify the current list of accepted equivalents with PeopleCert before you book.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You can resit the Practitioner exam. Our training includes scenario practice and open-book exam technique to prepare you thoroughly, and selected plans offer retake support. Confirm the current resit policy with PeopleCert.

What topics does the PRINCE2 Practitioner training cover?

The training covers the nine PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus areas: the principles, practices and processes, key roles and responsibilities, people management, sustainability and ESG, digital and data management, communication, and tailoring, all applied to project scenarios.

What is new in PRINCE2 7 compared with PRINCE2 6?

PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) introduces the People capability as a core element, renames Themes to Practices, adds commercial management, and integrates agile and sustainability considerations. Our courseware is fully aligned to this current edition.

Can a beginner take this course?

Practitioner is an advanced credential, so you should hold PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent first. If you are new to PRINCE2, we can guide you to complete Foundation before progressing to Practitioner.

Are practice questions and mock exercises included?

Yes. The programme includes scenario-based exercises, practice questions and open-book exam technique mapped to the Practitioner format, helping you identify weak areas and build readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest syllabus?
