    Yes.     Is the PMP recognised in Costa Rica?

    Yes. The PMP is recognised in over 200 countries, including Costa Rica, where employers such as Intel, HP, Amazon and Boston Scientific run PMI-aligned project operations. It is a portable credential that travels across sectors and borders.

    What are the prerequisites for the PMP?

    There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary diploma you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours, which the training provides.

    How long is the PMP valid and how do I renew it?

    The PMP is valid for three years. You maintain it by earning 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each of the three areas.

    How much does PMP training cost in Costa Rica?

    Is the exam fee included in the training price?

    No. PMI bills the PMP exam fee separately in USD. PMI membership, around USD 139 per year, lowers the exam fee and includes free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and Agile Practice Guide. Confirm current figures at pmi.org.

    What is the format of the PMP exam?

    The PMP exam is closed book and uses multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and tests scenario-based application, not pure recall.

    How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two scheduled 10-minute breaks. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level performance feedback.

    Which edition is the current PMP exam based on?

    The current exam is based on the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the updated Examination Content Outline (ECO). The updated ECO spans five domains: Project Management Fundamentals (15%), Predictive Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

    How many attempts do I get for the PMP exam?

    PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts, so confirm the current amounts at pmi.org before booking.

    Does the PMP exam cover agile?

    Yes. Roughly half the exam reflects agile or hybrid approaches, and the updated ECO gives agile its own dedicated domain worth 27%. You will cover Scrum, Kanban, Lean and hybrid delivery alongside predictive methods.

    What topics are covered in the PMP training?

    The training covers the five updated ECO domains: Project Management Fundamentals, Predictive Methodologies, Agile Frameworks, Business Analysis and Strategic Management, and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication, plus exam strategy and PMI application guidance.

    Do I need prior experience to take the training?

    Anyone can attend the training, which delivers the 35 contact hours the PMI application requires. To sit the exam itself, PMI requires proven project leadership experience, so the course also guides you on documenting your eligibility.
