Change Management Demand Drivers in Edmonton

    Change Fatigue from Concurrent Initiatives

Alberta employers run more simultaneous changes than ever, from AI adoption to restructures. Without a deliberate approach, employees tire and initiatives stall, the exact gap trained change practitioners close.

The course builds resilience and change-capacity skills

    Low Adoption on Digital Programmes

Technology alone does not drive adoption. When change plans, role clarity and skills are missing, digital investments underdeliver, so employers now hire people who can manage the human side of change.

The course builds stakeholder engagement skills

    Public Sector Modernisation Pressure

The Government of Alberta and public bodies in Edmonton are redesigning services and systems. Large-scale modernisation needs structured change management to guide staff through new ways of working.

The course builds communication and planning skills

    Energy Transition and Restructuring

Edmonton's energy and utility employers face transition, automation and operating-model change. These shifts demand change impact assessment and workforce transition planning to protect delivery and morale.

The course builds change-planning and impact skills

    Resistance and People Risk

Employees resist changes they do not understand or trust. Practitioners who can diagnose resistance and build awareness, desire and reinforcement keep programmes on track and reduce people risk.

    The course builds resistance-management skills

    Shortage of Certified Change Practitioners

Alberta's talent pool is deep in project managers but thin in credentialed change practitioners. A recognised change qualification makes holders scarce and sought-after in the Edmonton market.

By the end, you can diagnose resistance, engage stakeholders and lead adoption with confidence.

    Apply Organisational Change Models

Select and use Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model, McKinsey 7-S and Schein's culture model to plan change at organisation level and judge readiness for a given scenario.

    Engage Stakeholders and Communicate Change

Map and analyse stakeholders, build engagement and communication plans, and apply Cialdini's principles of influence to manage resistance through dialogue rather than coercion.

Run change impact assessments, build a complete change management plan covering communication, training and resistance, and use techniques that embed and sustain change over time.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam is closed book with 50 single-answer multiple-choice questions to complete in 40 minutes. The pass mark is 50%, or 25 out of 50 correct. It tests knowledge and understanding of change concepts, models and the change process.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted during the Practitioner exam. However, the scenario questions require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep model knowledge are both essential, and the training builds both.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

Our training is designed to prepare you thoroughly for both exams, with mock exams and practice questions for each level. If you need to resit, we guide you on re-examination steps and preparation. Ask an advisor about retake support options.

What standard are the exams based on?

What are the five syllabus areas?

The five areas are Change and the Individual, Change and the Organisation, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation covers them at awareness level and Practitioner at application and analysis level.

Can a beginner take this course?

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive courseware aligned to the official syllabi, industry-driven case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both Foundation and Practitioner. These help you connect the change models to realistic organisational scenarios.

How long is the training programme?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as 40 hours of instructor-led training, typically over a five-day format. The number of days can vary by schedule, with full-day and extended part-time options available.
