Construction Market Forces Driving PMI-CP Demand in Slovak Republic

    Contract and Claims Complexity

Slovak infrastructure and building projects run on layered contracts and subcontracts, where variations and disputes erode margin. Contracts is the PMI-CP exam's largest domain at 50 percent, exactly the gap it is built to close.

PMI-CP builds contract and claims skills

    Mega-Project Delivery Risk

The planned EUR 10 billion Jaslovske Bohunice nuclear plant and the D1 and D4 motorways demand contract, risk and stakeholder governance at scale, raising the value of certified construction project managers.

    PMI-CP builds portfolio-grade risk skills

    Skilled PM Talent Shortage

Slovakia has deep site labour but few credentialed construction project managers. The mandatory-module pathway and 120-question exam make PMI-CP holders rare and sought-after by contractors and developers.

PMI-CP makes certified delivery leaders stand out

    EU Funding Compliance Pressure

EU Recovery Fund and TEN-T investment brings strict governance, audit and reporting duties. Project Governance is a distinct PMI-CP domain, preparing managers to keep funded works compliant and accountable.

PMI-CP builds governance and reporting skills

    Energy Transition and Renewables Push

Renewable, grid-modernisation and nuclear investment is reshaping the pipeline, with the 3.2 percent 2026 output rise led by energy. New project types need managers fluent in complex construction delivery.

    PMI-CP builds cross-sector delivery skills

    Stakeholder and Regulatory Coordination

Permitting, community impact and multi-authority approvals routinely delay Slovak projects. PMI-CP's Stakeholder Engagement domain, 30 percent of the exam, equips managers to keep programmes on track.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist certification for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills in a construction environment and suits construction project managers, site managers moving into project roles, owner's representatives and PMP holders working in construction.

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist certification for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills in a construction environment and suits construction project managers, site managers moving into project roles, owner's representatives and PMP holders working in construction.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Slovakia?

Yes. With motorway, nuclear, renewable and building-renovation investment expanding the Slovak pipeline, employers increasingly seek certified construction delivery leaders. PMI-CP maps to roles from construction project manager to project director, where senior salaries in Slovakia reach around EUR 53,481 and above.

Which body governs the PMI-CP and which standard is it based on?

The PMI-CP is governed by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The exam is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and aligned to the current edition of the PMBOK Guide, covering four construction project management domains.

Do I need the PMP before taking the PMI-CP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary, with PMP validating broad project management and PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four mandatory modules can be applied towards renewal.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically covers PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock exams, guidance on the four mandatory modules, application support and a course completion certificate. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing.

How much does the PMI-CP exam cost?

PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee in USD under regional pricing, and figures vary, so confirm current fees at pmi.org before applying. PMI membership reduces the exam fee and gives access to PMI resources. The exam fee is not part of the training price.

Are the four mandatory module fees included?

No. The four self-paced PMI-CP modules are purchased through PMI and priced by region and membership status. They are separate from the training fee. We guide you on completing all four before you apply. Ask a learning advisor for details.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing for PMI-CP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction, engineering and PMO teams across Slovak Republic. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed-book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). Questions are distributed across the four ECO domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

What are the PMI-CP eligibility requirements?

All candidates complete four mandatory self-paced modules, then meet one of three sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months. Each set requires 35 contact hours of project management education.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all four domains.

What happens if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam first time?

You may take up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our practice questions and mock exams are built to help you prepare thoroughly and reduce that risk.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-CP training?

You will learn construction contract and claims management, stakeholder and owner engagement, strategy and scope control, and project governance, mapped to the four official PMI-CP ECO domains, plus change, risk and quality management on complex construction projects.

What are the four mandatory PMI-CP modules?

Every candidate completes four self-paced modules before applying, in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each awards 14 PDUs, 56 in total, applicable towards renewal.

Is the courseware aligned to the current PMI-CP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide, so you study the four domains and weightings exactly as the exam tests them.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, close to but below the 35 hours PMI requires across all eligibility sets. Check with us on how supplementary self-study or pre-reading can be credited towards the 35-hour requirement.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions aligned to the 120-question, 230-minute closed-book format, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes to help you find weak areas and build exam readiness across all four domains.
