Which edition of PRINCE2 does the training cover?

The training covers the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), published by PeopleCert and AXELOS. PRINCE2 7 introduced the People capability, renamed Themes to Practices, and integrated agile and sustainability considerations across the method.

Do I need to take both levels together?

The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, Foundation first and then Practitioner. Foundation confirms you understand the method, while Practitioner proves you can apply and tailor it to real project scenarios. Both must be passed to hold both credentials.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam is closed book with 60 multiple-choice, single-answer questions to be completed in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 60 percent, which is 36 of 60 correct. It tests knowledge and comprehension of PRINCE2, and has no formal prerequisites.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book, using the PRINCE2 manual, with 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks over 150 minutes. The pass mark is 60 percent, which is 42 of 70 marks. It tests your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2 in project scenarios.

What are the prerequisites for the Practitioner exam?

You need PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM, or IPMA Level A to D. Foundation has no prerequisites. Verify current accepted equivalents on peoplecert.org before you apply.

Where and how do I sit the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either online through their proctored system, available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre. They are usually arranged as part of a combined training and dual-exam package.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the exam, and our preparation is built around a first-time pass with mock exams, scenario practice and revision support. Re-sit fees and policies are set by PeopleCert, so confirm current terms before booking. Selected plans include retake support.

You will learn the four integrated elements of PRINCE2 7: the seven principles, the People capability, the seven practices and the seven processes. You also learn product-based planning, management products, and how to tailor the method to different project contexts.

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation has no prerequisites and is open to all, so the course suits professionals new to project management or to PRINCE2. The Practitioner content then builds applied, scenario-based capability on top of that foundation.
