What are the prerequisites for PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary diploma you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours, which the training provides.

How long is the PMP certification valid?

PMP is valid for three years. To keep it active, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year renewal cycle.

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP exam is closed book and delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. It uses multiple question types, including multiple choice, multiple response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. Questions are scenario-based, testing how you apply project management principles rather than pure recall.

What are the PMP exam domains?

The exam aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition covers five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail, with domain feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all domains.

How many attempts do I get for the PMP exam?

You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility period from the date your application is approved. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

Which edition is the PMP exam based on?
