Foundation gives you a respected, prerequisite-free credential that opens roles such as project coordinator, PMO analyst and junior project manager, and it is the first step towards Practitioner.

Which edition of PRINCE2 does this training cover?

The training covers the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), published by PeopleCert and AXELOS. PRINCE2 7 introduced People as a core element, renamed Themes to Practices, and integrated agile and sustainability thinking alongside the seven principles and seven processes.

Who governs the PRINCE2 certification?

PRINCE2 was created by AXELOS, which was acquired by PeopleCert in 2021. PeopleCert now owns, publishes and examines all PRINCE2 qualifications. Invensis Learning is a PeopleCert Accredited Training Organisation.

How long is the PRINCE2 Foundation certification valid?

PRINCE2 Foundation is valid for three years. To keep it active, you renew every three years by earning 60 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points within the certification cycle. Confirm current renewal options at peoplecert.org.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The PRINCE2 7 Foundation exam is closed book with 60 single-answer multiple-choice questions. It is based on the current PRINCE2 7 Foundation syllabus and the Managing Successful Projects manual.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 60 questions and you have 60 minutes (one hour) to complete it. The pass mark is 60 percent, which means answering at least 36 of the 60 questions correctly.

Are there any prerequisites for the Foundation exam?

No. PRINCE2 Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to everyone, regardless of education, experience or prior project management knowledge. Attending an accredited training course is recommended.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

You can sit the exam online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctored system, available 24/7, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. It is usually arranged through your accredited training provider as part of a training and exam package.

What happens if I do not pass on my first attempt?

You can prepare and resit the exam. Our training includes practice questions and mock exams to build your readiness for the 60-question, 60-minute format, and our team can guide you on rebooking. Verify the current resit policy at peoplecert.org.
