What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions in a single-answer format, lasts 60 minutes, and is closed book. The passing score is 60%, which is 36 out of 60 correct. There are no formal prerequisites to sit it.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, lasts 150 minutes, and is open book with the PRINCE2 manual permitted. It uses scenario-based objective questions, and the passing score is 60%, which is 42 out of 70 marks.

What are the prerequisites for the Practitioner exam?

PRINCE2 Foundation is required before Practitioner. Accepted equivalents include PMP, CAPM and IPMA Level A, B, C or D. Foundation itself has no prerequisites, so the combined course lets you take both levels in sequence.

Where and how can I sit the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either online through their proctored system available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre. Exams are typically arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined package.

What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit the relevant PeopleCert exam. We provide focused revision, mock exams and trainer support to help you prepare for a retake, and selected plans include additional attendance options. Confirm the current PeopleCert resit policy before booking.
