Why PRINCE2 Skills Are in Demand in Hong Kong

    Digital Transformation Overload

Hong Kong banks and insurers are running major core-platform, payments and AI programmes under HKMA's Fintech 2030, yet many lack the structured governance PRINCE2 brings to control them.

    PRINCE2 brings structured project control

    Regulated Delivery Pressure

Financial regulators expect disciplined, auditable project delivery. PRINCE2's stage-based control and defined roles help teams meet governance and compliance expectations.

PRINCE2 builds governance and control skills

    Cross-Border Programme Complexity

Greater Bay Area integration means projects span teams, cities and jurisdictions, demanding the consistent methods and tailoring that PRINCE2 is designed to provide.

    PRINCE2 teaches tailoring at scale

    Method Inconsistency Across Teams

Many Hong Kong PMOs run projects with mixed, informal approaches, causing rework and value leakage that a common PRINCE2 method removes.

    PRINCE2 creates a shared method

    Shortage of Accredited PMs

Employers list hundreds of project and PMO roles, but candidates with a current, accredited project management method stand out in a competitive market.

    PRINCE2 makes certified talent visible

    Infrastructure Delivery at Scale

Major transport, construction and public-sector projects need portfolio-grade planning, risk and progress control, exactly what PRINCE2 practices and processes address.

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 is a structured, globally recognised project management method governed by AXELOS and delivered by PeopleCert. This combined course covers both levels on the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and prepares you for the Foundation and Practitioner exams.

Why choose Invensis Learning for PRINCE2 training in Hong Kong?

Invensis Learning is a PeopleCert Accredited Training Organization offering official PRINCE2 7 courseware, experienced trainers, flexible online and classroom formats, and full support for both exams, so you move from learning to certified with a clear path.

Is PRINCE2 recognised in Hong Kong?

Yes. PRINCE2 is a globally recognised credential valued by employers across Hong Kong and worldwide, including banks, insurers, fintech firms, IT services and infrastructure organisations that run complex projects. PeopleCert operates in over 200 countries.

Who should take this PRINCE2 course?

The course suits aspiring and practising project managers, coordinators, PMO staff and project team members. It also fits PMP or CAPM holders working in markets where PRINCE2 is preferred, and anyone wanting a structured, recognised method.

How long are the PRINCE2 certifications valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points, and Practitioner is renewed by re-sitting the exam, completing CPD via MyAxelos, or passing a higher PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Hong Kong?

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner training fees vary by format and schedule and are available on request. PeopleCert bills the exam fees separately. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current Hong Kong pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam application guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate. Exam fees are billed separately by PeopleCert.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 exams?

The Foundation exam has 60 questions in 60 minutes, closed book, single-answer multiple choice, with a 60% pass mark. The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks in 150 minutes, open book, scenario-based, also 60% to pass.

How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate PeopleCert exams: the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials. The combined programme prepares you for each one.

What is the pass mark for the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams require 60% to pass. That is 36 out of 60 questions for Foundation and 42 out of 70 marks for Practitioner. The course prepares you for the standard set by the current PRINCE2 7 syllabus.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The PRINCE2 7 Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted during the Practitioner exam. You can refer to it, but the questions require analysis and judgment, so time management and knowing the manual well remain essential.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can retake the exam; PeopleCert resit fees apply per attempt. Our preparation, mock exams and revision support are designed to build your readiness, and selected plans include Flexi options to retrain before you resit.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 exams?

You can sit both exams online through PeopleCert's OnVUE online proctoring, available 24/7, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. The exams are arranged as part of your combined training and dual-exam package.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 course cover?

The course covers the seven PRINCE2 principles, the People capability, the seven practices and the seven processes, plus tailoring. Foundation builds understanding of the method, while Practitioner focuses on applying and tailoring it to real scenarios.

Can a beginner take this PRINCE2 course?

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation has no prerequisites and is open to those new to project management. The combined programme starts with the fundamentals before moving into Practitioner-level application, with trainer support throughout.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes mock exams, topic-wise quizzes and practice questions mapped to both exam formats, helping you identify weak areas and build confidence before you sit the Foundation and Practitioner exams.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PRINCE2 edition?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the PRINCE2 7 Managing Successful Projects manual, covering the People capability, the practices and the processes as defined by PeopleCert.

What materials and formats are provided?

You receive accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, practice questions, mock exams and reference materials, delivered through live online or classroom sessions. Corporate groups can have content tailored to their project environment.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

We run regular live online and classroom batches in Hong Kong. You can enrol on the Invensis Learning website, choose your format, and get access to schedules and courseware. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to begin.

    What training formats are available?

How is the combined PRINCE2 course scheduled?

The combined programme is typically delivered over four days, covering Foundation first and then Practitioner, with the exams sat during or shortly after the training. Actual scheduling depends on the batch and delivery format you choose.
