    Is the PMP worth it for professionals in Hong Kong?

    Yes. Hong Kong employers in banking, fintech, construction and technology increasingly list the PMP as a hiring or promotion criterion, and PMP holders earn a globally recognised pay premium of 16 to 33 percent. It is a strong route into senior project roles across the city.

    Is the PMP recognised in Hong Kong?

    Yes. The PMP is recognised in over 200 countries and is widely regarded as the global standard for project management. In Hong Kong it is valued across banking, fintech, construction, technology and government programmes.

    What are the prerequisites for the PMP?

    There are two paths: a four-year degree plus 36 months leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education; or a secondary diploma plus 60 months leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours. This training provides the 35 contact hours of education.

    How long is the PMP valid and how do I renew it?

    The PMP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle (Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen) within each three-year cycle through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

    What is included in the PMP course fee?

    The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 35 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, exam application guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate.

    How much is the PMP exam fee?

    PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 405 for PMI members and USD 555 for non-members, and prices may vary. PMI membership also gives free access to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition. Confirm current fees on pmi.org.

    How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

    The PMP exam has 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. It uses multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank question types.

    What does the PMP exam cover?

    The exam, aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, covers five performance domains: Project Management Fundamentals (15%), Predictive Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%) and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

    What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Your result is determined through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    Where can I take the PMP exam?

    You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, including centres in Hong Kong. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE or PMI portal within your one-year eligibility period.

    What if I do not pass the PMP exam first time?

    PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams, practice questions and trainer support are designed to build your readiness before you sit the exam.

    The training is aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the current PMP Examination Content Outline from PMI, so your preparation reflects how the exam and modern projects are structured today.

    Are practice tests and mock exams included?

    Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness before your attempt.

    Do I need prior experience to take the training?

    Anyone can attend the training, and it provides the 35 contact hours PMI requires. To sit the PMP exam, PMI expects either a four-year degree with 36 months of project leadership or a secondary diploma with 60 months, so many learners meet this alongside their studies.

    Will I receive contact hours and a certificate?

    Yes. On completing the training you receive a course completion certificate and 35 contact hours (PDUs) that count towards the PMP education requirement in your PMI application.
