Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a two-level EXIN credential developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. The Foundation level validates knowledge of business analysis concepts and the Practitioner level validates the ability to apply them in realistic project scenarios. Both are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a two-level EXIN credential developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. The Foundation level validates knowledge of business analysis concepts and the Practitioner level validates the ability to apply them in realistic project scenarios. Both are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Who should take this business analysis course in Hong Kong?

It suits aspiring business analysts, IT professionals, project managers, product owners and consultants. In Hong Kong, banking, insurance, fintech and professional services firms actively hire analysts who can bridge business needs and technology, so the pathway fits both new and practising analysts.

Is the EXIN BCS Business Analysis certification recognised in Hong Kong?

Yes. EXIN operates in over 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered professional body for IT, with strong recognition across Asia. The credential is valued by Hong Kong employers in banking, fintech, insurance and consulting.

Is this business analysis certification worth it?

Yes, for most professionals it is. It proves both knowledge and applied skill, and demand for analysts is strong in Hong Kong, where senior business analyst roles average around HK$758K per year. The pathway opens roles across financial services and technology.

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement.

    Pricing

How much does the business analysis training cost in Hong Kong?

Pricing varies by delivery format and whether exam vouchers are bundled, so it is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote for live virtual, classroom or corporate delivery in Hong Kong.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both papers, learner support and a course completion certificate. Confirm exam voucher inclusion when you request a quote.

Are the EXIN exam fees included in the price?

Exam vouchers are often bundled into the training package, but EXIN pricing varies by region and channel. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers are included when you enquire, and request a quote for the full package.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the Foundation and Practitioner exams?

The Foundation exam is 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, closed book. The Practitioner exam is 40 scenario-based multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, closed book, testing how you apply techniques in realistic project situations.

What is the passing score for the exams?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct on the Foundation exam and 26 out of 40 on the Practitioner exam.

Do I need to pass the Foundation before the Practitioner?

The EXIN BCS Foundation Certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level. The combined programme covers Foundation content first, then Practitioner, so you build knowledge before applying it in scenarios.

How are the exams delivered in Hong Kong?

Both exams can be taken online through EXIN's online proctored system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are usually arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined package.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam you did not pass. EXIN re-sit policies and fees vary by region and channel, so confirm the current terms with your training provider. Our mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to help you pass first time.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

It covers business analysis concepts, investigation techniques, requirements engineering, stakeholder analysis, business process modelling, strategy and gap analysis, and business case development, then applies them through scenario-based Practitioner practice.

Which standard is the course based on?

The course is aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge and the official EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner examination specifications, developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock exams mapped to both the Foundation and Practitioner formats, along with industry case studies, to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, so beginners can start here. The Practitioner level builds on Foundation knowledge and applies it in realistic scenarios.

What learning materials will I receive?

You receive EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both papers, and supporting reference materials to guide your preparation for the two exams.
