Change Drivers Fuelling Demand in Hong Kong

    Regulatory Change Overload

HKMA and SFC requirements keep reshaping how banks and insurers operate, and each rule change means new processes and behaviours. Certified change practitioners help teams adopt them without disruption.

    Certified practitioners manage compliance-driven change

    Digital Transformation at Speed

Virtual banking, AI and cloud migrations move fast in Hong Kong, but technology only delivers value when people use it. Change managers close the gap between rollout and real adoption.

    Change skills drive technology adoption

    Change Fatigue and Adoption Risk

Employees facing constant change disengage, and adoption stalls. Trained practitioners diagnose resistance, plan communication and reinforce new ways of working so change sticks.

The Practitioner level builds resistance-management skill

    Scarce Change Talent

Hong Kong has a deep pool of project managers but far fewer credentialed change specialists. Recognised Foundation and Practitioner credentials make certified holders sought-after.

Certification makes change professionals stand out

    Greater Bay Area Complexity

Cross-border programmes across the Greater Bay Area combine different cultures, systems and regulations. Structured change practice keeps stakeholder engagement and adoption on track at scale.

    Practitioners coordinate cross-border change

    People Side of Restructuring

Mergers, cost programmes and operating-model shifts fail when the human impact is ignored. Certified practitioners apply proven models to protect wellbeing, trust and performance through change.

    Exam

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Change Management Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 40 minutes. It is closed book with a single-answer format, and the pass mark is 50% (25 out of 50 correct). It is usually taken at the end of the Foundation part of the training.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 5 scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks total, completed in 2.5 hours. It is open book, with the Change Management Practitioner Guide permitted, and the pass mark is 50% (40 out of 80 marks).

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam. However, the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep understanding of the models are both essential.

Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

Yes. Change Management Foundation certification is required before you sit the Practitioner exam, or an accepted equivalent. The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, with Foundation covered first and Practitioner after.

What if I do not pass the first time?

The programme includes mock exams, practice questions and technique guidance to help you pass both levels on the first attempt. If a resit is needed, re-sit policies and any fees vary, so confirm the details with our team before you enrol.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. Change Management Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of experience. The programme builds from core concepts at Foundation level to applied, scenario-based practice at Practitioner level, with trainer support throughout.

What topics does the syllabus cover?

The syllabus covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organization, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation covers them at knowledge level and Practitioner at application level.

Which change management models are covered?

You study a broad range of models, including ADKAR, Bridges' Transition Model, Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model, McKinsey 7-S, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence and Cialdini's six principles of influence.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive courseware aligned to both exam syllabi and the CMBoK, industry-driven case studies, mock exams, and practice questions for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, along with guidance on open-book exam technique.

How long is the training programme?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as 40 hours of instructor-led training. The number of days depends on the schedule format, whether full-day intensive or extended half-day sessions, so you can choose what fits your availability.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to pick a start date.
