What Is Microsoft Project Training?UntitledYour Route to Confident Project Scheduling

Microsoft Project Training in Hong Kong is a practical, hands-on programme that teaches you to plan, schedule, resource and track projects using Microsoft Project, the industry-leading scheduling software developed by Microsoft Corporation. You learn on the live application, building real project plans rather than sitting through theory. The course runs at two levels. Fundamentals (2 days) suits planners, coordinators and project managers who are new to the tool, covering project setup, work breakdown structures, task dependencies, the critical path, resources, baselines and progress tracking. Advanced (3 days) extends your skills to resource levelling, cost and earned value management, custom reports, and master projects for programme-level scheduling. Delivered in live virtual, classroom and onsite formats, the training fits busy professionals across Hong Kong's construction, engineering, IT, banking and public-sector projects. There is no examination; you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning and, more importantly, software skills you can apply the very next day. Whether you plan capital works, digital-transformation programmes or client engagements, structured Microsoft Project skills help you deliver on time and on budget.

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Microsoft Project training gives you a concrete, in-demand skill: turning a list of activities into a controlled, realistic schedule you can resource, track and report. You practise every feature on the live tool, so you leave able to do the work, not just describe it. Whether you are moving off spreadsheets, stepping up from coordinator to planner, or managing delivery in IT, construction, banking or consulting, the two-level path meets you at your experience level.

If you want to plan and control projects with the software that Hong Kong employers use every day, this training is a direct, practical route. You gain hands-on proficiency, reusable templates and the confidence to own a project schedule from setup to closeout.

    • Plan and schedule projects confidently using Microsoft Project, the tool employers expect
    • Build accurate work breakdown structures, task dependencies and critical-path schedules
    • Assign and level resources to avoid over-allocation and costly delays
    • Set baselines and track progress so you spot slippage early
    • Produce clear Gantt charts and status reports that stakeholders trust
    • Apply advanced scheduling, cost and earned value techniques on complex projects
    • Gain skills valued across Hong Kong's construction, IT and finance sectors

    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Microsoft Project group training helps organisations build reliable, consistent scheduling capability by equipping planners and project teams with practical software skills. Training can be delivered for a single PMO, a project department or teams across business units. For organisations running large or concurrent projects, a shared, structured approach to scheduling reduces slippage and improves the quality of reporting to sponsors.

If your teams plan in different ways or still rely on spreadsheets, corporate Microsoft Project training creates one common scheduling language. Planners learn to build, baseline and track schedules the same way, so portfolio reporting becomes faster and more accurate.

    • Standardise project scheduling practice across teams and PMOs
    • Improve schedule accuracy, resourcing and on-time delivery
    • Give planners a common toolset for reporting to leadership
    • Let teams practise on your own real project data during training
    • Choose flexible onsite, live virtual or blended delivery for busy teams
    • Strengthen in-house planning capability across concurrent projects
    • Support consistent governance and reporting across programmes

    General

What is Microsoft Project Training and who is it for?

Microsoft Project Training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to plan, schedule, resource and track projects using Microsoft Project. It suits project managers, coordinators, planners, PMO analysts and team leads in Hong Kong who want confident, job-ready scheduling skills.

Is Microsoft Project Training worth it for professionals in Hong Kong?

Yes. Microsoft Project is the tool most Hong Kong employers use to plan and control projects, and demand for skilled planners is strong across construction, IT, banking and the public sector. Building this skill makes you more effective on delivery and more competitive for planning and project roles.

Do I need any certification to use Microsoft Project?

No. This is a skills-based training course, not a certification, so there is no exam or awarding body. You build practical proficiency in the software and receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning that you can add to your CV.

Should I take the Fundamentals or the Advanced level?

Take Fundamentals (2 days) if you are new to Microsoft Project or use it only occasionally. Take Advanced (3 days) if you already build schedules and want to master resource levelling, earned value, custom reports and master projects. Both levels can be taken independently or in sequence.

Which industries in Hong Kong use Microsoft Project?

Microsoft Project is used widely in construction and infrastructure, IT and digital transformation, banking and insurance, property, transport and consulting. Employers delivering large or concurrent projects rely on it for scheduling, resourcing and progress reporting.

    Pricing

How much does Microsoft Project Training cost in Hong Kong?

Fees vary by level, delivery format and whether you book as an individual or a group, so pricing is available on request. Tell us your preferred level and format and we will share a current quote. Talk to a learning advisor for details.

What is included in the training fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions, structured courseware, hands-on exercises using realistic project scenarios, practice files and templates, learner support, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer group and corporate rates for teams, with customised schedules and onsite or live virtual delivery in Hong Kong. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

Do I need to buy Microsoft Project software separately?

Microsoft Project is a separate commercial product from Microsoft Corporation, so you need a valid licence to use the software during and after the training. Confirm with our team whether a trial licence is available for your session before you enrol.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for Microsoft Project Training?

No. Neither the Fundamentals nor the Advanced level includes an examination. Both are non-certification courses where learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Microsoft Project exercises throughout the programme.

What do I receive on completing the course?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning, along with the practical Microsoft Project skills you built during the training. There is no formal credential from an external body, as this is a skills course.

How is learning assessed during the training?

There is no formal assessment. You practise each feature on the live tool as the trainer demonstrates it, working through realistic project scenarios so you build proficiency through hands-on repetition rather than a test.

What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

You will be able to create a project and calendar, build a task list with summary tasks and milestones, link tasks with dependencies, read the critical path, create and assign resources, set a baseline, track progress and generate built-in status reports.

What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

You will be able to apply task types correctly, run resource levelling, calculate and report earned value metrics, build custom fields, views and visual reports, and manage master projects with cross-project dependencies for programme-level scheduling.

Do I need Microsoft Project installed before the training?

Yes. You should have Microsoft Project installed and accessible on your device before the session so you can complete the exercises. Check with our team about software access and version requirements when you book.

Which version of Microsoft Project is used?

The training covers the core Microsoft Project desktop application, which is available as Standard and Professional, and references Microsoft Project Online as part of Microsoft 365. The skills apply across recent versions. Confirm the exact version for your session with our team.
