What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and the PMBOK Guide. Questions use single-answer and multiple-answer formats across four construction domains.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions with an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The four domains are Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), per the official PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI-CP has two parts. You must complete all four self-paced PMI-CP modules, plus meet one experience and education set, for example a bachelor's degree with 36 months of construction PM experience within the past 10 years and 35 contact hours of PM education.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes ECO-aligned practice and mock exams to build readiness, and our team supports your preparation between attempts.
