How many questions are on the PfMP exam and what is the duration?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). It is delivered via Pearson VUE, either at a test centre or through OnVUE online proctoring.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%). The training covers all five in depth.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback such as Above Target or Target, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PfMP panel review and how many attempts do I get?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment where portfolio management practitioners evaluate your documented experience; it must be passed alongside the written exam. PMI allows up to three exam attempts within your one-year eligibility period.

Yes. The courseware is aligned to The Standard for Portfolio Management, 4th Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline that defines the five performance domains and their tasks.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which also count as PDUs.

What are the eligibility requirements to sit the PfMP exam?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires a secondary or bachelor's degree, significant business experience (about 120 months) and portfolio management experience within the past 15 years, plus a subject-matter-expert panel review.
