    What is the format of the Yellow Belt exam?

    The exam is closed book with multiple-choice and true or false questions. It is delivered through online proctoring on demand or at a Pearson VUE test centre, so you can choose the option that is most convenient.

    How many questions are on the Yellow Belt exam?

    The exam has 60 questions and a two-hour allotted time. Some exam forms may include up to six additional unscored questions used for evaluation, which do not affect your result.

    What is the passing score for the exam?

    You need to achieve a minimum of 230 points out of 300. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the five DMAIC phases, so broad understanding across all phases is the best preparation.

    What is the exam application process?

    After your training, you purchase an exam voucher from the IASSC orders site, choose your delivery mode, then schedule and sit the exam. On passing, you receive a digital certificate, a badge and a listing in the official certification register.

    Can a complete beginner take this course?

    Yes. The Yellow Belt is designed as an entry point, so no prior Lean Six Sigma knowledge is needed. The training builds concepts step by step, with practical examples and trainer support throughout to help beginners stay on track.

    How long is the training?

    The programme runs for 16 hours of training, delivered as two full days or four half days depending on the schedule you choose. This gives you focused, structured coverage of the full Body of Knowledge.

    Are practice tests and materials provided?

    Yes. You receive courseware aligned to the IASSC Body of Knowledge, practice questions and mock assessments mapped to the 60-question format, along with reference materials to support your revision and exam readiness.
