Is there an exam for this RCA course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no exam. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on RCA exercises, case study investigations and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This confirms attendance and the practical skills covered; it is not a certification awarded by an external body.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

Learning is assessed through practical application rather than a formal test. You work through problem-definition, 5 Whys, Fishbone and 8D exercises on realistic scenarios, applying each tool with trainer guidance and feedback.

Is this a certification course?

No. Root Cause Analysis is a skills training course, not a certification. There is no governing body or exam; the focus is on building practical, job-ready problem-solving capability you can use immediately.

Do the RCA skills expire or need renewal?

No. The methods and tools you learn do not expire and require no renewal. They are immediately applicable to problem investigation, corrective action and CAPA work in any industry.

Course Content

What will I learn in the RCA course?

You will learn to define problems precisely, collect evidence, and apply the 5 Whys, Fishbone diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA and the 8D method to find and eliminate root causes. You also learn to develop and verify corrective actions that prevent recurrence.

How long is the RCA training?

The course runs for one day, totalling eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers all six RCA modules with concept explanations, worked examples and hands-on exercises throughout.

Does the course include hands-on exercises?

Yes. Practice runs throughout the day, including an Is / Is Not exercise, a 5 Whys investigation, a Fishbone workshop and completing an 8D report for a realistic scenario, so you leave able to apply the tools at work.

How does RCA support ISO 9001:2015 compliance?

ISO 9001:2015 Clause 10.2 requires organisations to determine the causes of nonconformities and act to prevent recurrence. The course gives you a structured, documented RCA approach that directly supports this corrective action requirement and CAPA programmes.

Can beginners follow the course?

Yes. There are no prerequisites and the course teaches RCA from first principles. Beginners gain a complete toolkit, while experienced professionals sharpen tool selection and facilitation skills.
