What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions to be completed in 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions, based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

The January 2022 exam content outline defines five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%), spanning predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our preparation and mock exams are designed to support a confident first attempt.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done via PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website within your eligibility window.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The programme covers the five risk domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. It also covers qualitative and quantitative tools and risk in predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can enrol in the training to build risk skills and earn contact hours. To sit the exam, however, PMI requires documented project risk management experience and education, which vary by your qualification set.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions aligned to the 115-question format, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest exam?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the PMBOK Guide.

How many contact hours does the training provide?

The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education. This fully satisfies the 30-hour education requirement for bachelor's-degree and GAC-accredited-degree candidates; high school diploma candidates need 40 hours and should add further study.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP exam?

There are three sets: a secondary diploma with 36 months of risk experience and 40 hours of education; a bachelor's degree with 24 months and 30 hours; or a GAC-accredited degree with 12 months and 30 hours. Experience must be within the last five years.
