PMI-RMP has become a strong marker of risk expertise in Rijeka, a city whose economy runs on shipbuilding, maritime transport, port logistics and energy. Major programmes such as INA's completed 700 million euro refinery upgrade and offshore wind fabrication at the 3. Maj shipyard depend on disciplined project risk management. Demand sits with risk analysts, project risk managers and heads of risk, and here is what the local market is telling us right now.

Market Forces Fuelling Risk Demand in Rijeka

    High-Consequence Maritime Projects

Rijeka's shipyards run repair, conversion and offshore wind work under tight, fully booked schedules where a single unmanaged risk can derail a drydock slot and its revenue.

PMI-RMP builds risk strategy and response skills

    Energy Megaproject Complexity

INA's 700 million euro Rijeka Refinery upgrade drew 10,500 workers and 80 subcontractors, the kind of scale that demands structured risk aggregation and control.

PMI-RMP builds risk analysis and monitoring skills

    Port and Infrastructure Coordination

Port of Rijeka modernisation and EU-funded infrastructure programmes juggle multiple contractors and deadlines, exposing gaps that only formal portfolio-level risk practice can close.

    PMI-RMP builds cross-programme risk skills

    Scarce Specialist Risk Talent

Croatia has many project managers but few credentialed risk professionals. The PMI-RMP's dedicated experience and exam make holders rare and sought-after in the region.

PMI-RMP makes certified risk specialists stand out

    Regulatory and Compliance Pressure

Banking, insurance and energy employers in Croatia face rising EU regulatory demands, pushing structured, auditable risk management up the hiring agenda.

PMI-RMP builds governance and reporting skills

    Cost and Schedule Discipline

Capital-intensive maritime and energy work leaves little room for overruns, so employers value professionals who can quantify risk and manage reserves rigorously.

    General

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Rijeka?

Yes. The PMI-RMP is a globally recognised PMI credential that proves specialist risk expertise, and it is valued by Rijeka's shipbuilding, maritime, energy and banking employers. Risk roles in Croatia typically pay well above the national average net salary of around 1,527 euro a month.

What is the PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)?

The PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist certification in project risk management. It recognises your ability to identify project risks, mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities across predictive, agile and hybrid projects, and it sets you apart from general project management practitioners.

Who should take the PMI-RMP certification?

It suits project risk managers, senior project managers with a risk focus, programme and portfolio managers, risk consultants and PMO analysts. It is ideal for professionals in high-risk sectors such as construction, energy, maritime and financial services.

Is PMP required before the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders also hold the PMP because the two credentials are complementary.

    Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers worldwide. It is especially valued in high-risk industries such as construction, energy, maritime and financial services, where formal project risk management is often required.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of risk education, practice questions, mock exams aligned to the 115-question format, and application guidance. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Contact us for a quote.

How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

For reference, the PMI-RMP exam is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members; actual prices may vary, so verify current fees at pmi.org. PMI bills the exam in USD, separately from your training fee. Membership can lower the exam and renewal costs.

Does the training satisfy the risk education requirement?

Yes. The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which fully satisfies the 30-hour requirement for degree-holding applicants (Set B and Set C). Set A applicants with a secondary diploma need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams in Rijeka and across Croatia. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

How do I pay and are instalments available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to request a quote.

    Exam

How long is the PMI-RMP exam and how many questions?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a test centre.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

The current ECO, effective January 2022, has five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You may take up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts; confirm current amounts at pmi.org. Our mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass first time.

Which standards is the PMI-RMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management. It covers predictive, agile and hybrid risk approaches.
