PMI-CP builds strategy and scope management skills

    Contract and Claims Complexity

PMI-CP builds contracts and claims management skills

    Stakeholder and Community Pressure

Large projects touch owners, regulators, communities and financiers, and weak stakeholder engagement stalls approvals and progress. Construction leaders who can manage this are in strong demand.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills in a construction environment across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Uniquely, it requires completing four mandatory self-paced modules before you apply.

    General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) certification?

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills in a construction environment across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Uniquely, it requires completing four mandatory self-paced modules before you apply.

Who should take PMI-CP training in Ghana?

PMI-CP suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers moving into project management, owner's representatives and construction consultants. In Ghana it is well matched to professionals delivering roads, energy, mining, housing and building projects who want a recognised construction credential.

Is the PMI-CP certification worth it for my career?

Yes. PMI-CP proves construction-specific project management skill that employers value, and it can position you for senior roles such as contracts manager and construction director. With Ghana's Big Push infrastructure programme scaling capital projects, certified construction leaders are in growing demand. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need a PMP before taking PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with PMP covering general project management and PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Ghana?

PMI-CP training fees vary by format and are available on request in local terms. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing and group options.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the PMI application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Contact us for a full inclusions list.

How much is the PMI-CP exam fee?

For reference, PMI lists the exam at around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; actual fees may vary, so verify current figures at pmi.org. PMI membership (about USD 139 per year) lowers the exam fee and adds resources.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing for PMI-CP?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction firms, contractors and project teams. Ask about corporate pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with 120 multiple-choice questions in both single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and aligned to the current edition of the PMBOK Guide and construction industry practice.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes. It is delivered by Pearson VUE, either online proctored via OnVUE or at a test centre.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains in the PMI-CP ECO: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting how central contracts are to construction delivery.

What are the prerequisites to sit the PMI-CP exam?

You must complete all four mandatory self-paced modules, then meet one experience set: a secondary diploma plus 60 months of construction PM experience; a bachelor's degree plus 36 months; or a GAC-accredited degree plus 24 months. All sets need 35 contact hours of PM education and recent experience within the past 10 years.

What is the passing score and how many attempts do I get?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score, so no fixed percentage is published; results report domain performance. You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-CP training?

You will learn the four PMI-CP domains: contract types, administration, variations and claims; stakeholder engagement and communications; project strategy, scope, schedule, cost and quality; and project governance, reporting and compliance, all applied to construction projects.

Which standard is the PMI-CP courseware aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide, together with construction industry-specific standards and practice referenced in the ECO.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 120-question, closed-book PMI-CP format, plus topic-wise checks to help you find and close weak areas.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of PM education required for all eligibility sets. Check with our team on whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which support your PMI-CP application.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in PMI-CP training in Ghana?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to an advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and site commitments.

Do I need experience to enrol in the training?

Anyone can enrol in the training. The experience requirements apply only when you apply to PMI to sit the exam. Enrolling early lets you build knowledge and contact hours while you accumulate the required construction experience.

Can I reschedule or transfer my batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
