What is the PfMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PfMP worth it for professionals in Ghana?

Yes. The PfMP validates senior portfolio leadership and opens roles such as Portfolio Manager, Head of PMO and PMO Director, which sit at the top of Ghana's project pay bands. PMP-certified project professionals in Ghana already earn up to 33% more, and portfolio-level roles command higher still.

Is the PfMP recognised in Ghana?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PfMP is globally recognised and valued by Ghanaian employers in banking, mining, oil and gas, telecom and the public sector, as well as by multinationals and donor-funded programmes operating in the country.

What standard is the PfMP based on?

The PfMP is based on PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and the PfMP Examination Content Outline (ECO). The ECO defines five performance domains that shape the exam and the credential.

How long is the PfMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PfMP is valid for three years. You maintain it by earning 60 professional development units (PDUs) across PMI's Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

What is included in the PfMP course fee?

How much does PfMP training cost in Ghana?

PfMP training in Ghana is quoted locally in Ghana cedis and varies by format and cohort. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PfMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. PMI members pay less than non-members, and individual PMI membership reduces both the exam fee and renewal costs.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

What payment options are available?

Exam

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) time limit. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice question formats delivered by Pearson VUE, online or at a test centre.

What does the PfMP exam cover?

The exam covers five performance domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. Your result is set through psychometric analysis and reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP, in which portfolio management practitioners evaluate your documented experience. You must pass both the panel review and the written exam to earn the credential.

What happens if I do not pass the exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our training, mock exams and simulator help you prepare with confidence.

Course Content

What topics does the PfMP training cover?

The programme covers all five PfMP performance domains: strategic alignment, governance, portfolio performance, portfolio risk management and communications management, plus PMI application and panel-review preparation and exam strategy.

Do I need prior experience to attend the training?

Anyone can attend the training, but to sit the exam PMI requires senior experience. The course helps you understand the domains and document your portfolio experience for the application and panel review.

What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PfMP ECO and Handbook, a Standard for Portfolio Management overview, templates, flashcards and chapter-wise quizzes to support your revision.

Are mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and an exam simulator to help you find weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question exam.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PfMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware follows PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, 4th Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline, so your preparation matches what the exam evaluates.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PfMP exam?

PMI requires a secondary or four-year degree, 120 months (10 years) of professional business experience within the last 15 years, and portfolio management experience (84, 48 or 36 months depending on your degree), plus a panel review.

How do I enrol in the PfMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and resources. Talk to an advisor to pick a batch.

What training formats are available in Ghana?
