Who should take the PgMP certification?

The PgMP suits senior programme managers, PMO heads, directors of delivery and PMP holders who have moved into programme roles. It is designed for experienced professionals in Ghana who coordinate related projects to deliver strategic outcomes in sectors such as mining, oil and gas, banking and infrastructure.

Is the PgMP recognised in Ghana?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PgMP carries the same global recognition as PMP across more than 200 countries. Ghanaian employers in mining, oil and gas, telecom, banking and consulting value it as a benchmark for senior programme leadership.

Is PMP required before PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within the three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

Where can I take the PgMP exam in Ghana?

You can take the exam through Pearson VUE, either online with the OnVUE proctored system from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Schedule it through PMI's portal within your one-year eligibility period.

Do I need prior experience to take PgMP training?
