How long is the PRINCE2 Foundation certification valid?

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The PRINCE2 Foundation exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions. It is based on the PRINCE2 7 Foundation syllabus and tests the method at knowledge and comprehension level across principles, people, practices and processes.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 60 questions and lasts 60 minutes (one hour). Every question is single-answer multiple choice, so the focus is on understanding the PRINCE2 method rather than memorising long answers.

What is the passing score for PRINCE2 Foundation?

The pass mark is 60%, which means answering at least 36 of the 60 questions correctly. Our training and practice questions are designed to build the broad understanding you need to pass with confidence.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

You can take the exam online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctored system, available 24/7, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. It is usually arranged through an accredited training organisation as part of a training and exam package.

Do I need project experience to follow the course?

No prior experience is needed. PRINCE2 Foundation is designed for people new to PRINCE2 or to project management, and the training builds the method knowledge step by step, with examples and practice to reinforce each area.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the PRINCE2 7 Foundation syllabus, so you can test your understanding, find weak areas and get comfortable with the exam style before the real thing.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PRINCE2 7 Foundation syllabus and the PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual, 7th Edition, published by PeopleCert and AXELOS, so you learn the current method and terminology.

What is the difference between Foundation and Practitioner?

Foundation validates knowledge of the PRINCE2 method at comprehension level, enough to work in a PRINCE2 environment. Practitioner is the advanced level that tests applying and tailoring PRINCE2 to real projects. Foundation is the prerequisite for Practitioner.
