Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMP is PMI's flagship project management credential and the global standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead predictive, agile and hybrid projects and teams. It suits project managers, engineers, PMO staff and delivery leads with experience leading projects.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The PMP is PMI's flagship project management credential and the global standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead predictive, agile and hybrid projects and teams. It suits project managers, engineers, PMO staff and delivery leads with experience leading projects.

Is the PMP worth it for professionals in Ghana?

Yes. PMI's salary survey reports that PMP holders earn on average around 33% more than non-certified peers, and the credential opens senior roles across Ghana's mining, energy, construction and banking sectors. It is one of the clearest ways to lift your earning power and career prospects.

Is the PMP recognised by employers in Ghana?

Yes. The PMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers across Ghana and in more than 200 countries, including mining, oil and gas, construction, banking and telecommunications organisations that run large project portfolios.

What are the prerequisites for the PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary diploma you need 60 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours. All applicants must complete the 35 contact hours, which this training provides.

How long is the PMP certification valid?

The PMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across PMI's Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in Ghana?

PMP training fees in Ghana vary by format, whether live virtual, classroom or corporate group training. Your fee covers courseware, practice materials and application support, but not the PMI exam fee. Contact a learning advisor for current pricing and a tailored quote.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 35 contact hours of PM education, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, application guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate. Ask us for the full inclusions on your chosen format.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. PMI membership reduces the exam fee and gives free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, so many candidates join before booking. Request a quote and we will explain the full cost.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts for PMP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Ghana. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP exam has 180 questions to be completed in 230 minutes, including two 10-minute breaks. It uses multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions, delivered online with Pearson VUE OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The exam contains 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two scheduled 10-minute breaks. The questions are scenario-based and test application, not just recall.

What domains does the current PMP exam cover?

The updated PMP exam, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, covers five areas: Project Management Fundamentals (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. Your result is set through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all domains.

What happens if I do not pass the PMP exam first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our prep, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass on your first attempt.

Which edition is the PMP exam based on?

The current PMP exam references the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, which is the primary reference standard, along with PMI's Agile Practice Guide. Our courseware is aligned to the 8th edition so you prepare against the latest content.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMP training cover?

The training covers the full PMP exam content, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition: leading teams, predictive planning, agile and hybrid delivery, risk, stakeholder engagement, and linking projects to business value, plus exam strategy and application guidance.

Can a beginner take this course or do I need experience?

Anyone can enrol in the training and it is structured to build your knowledge step by step. To sit the PMP exam, PMI requires project leadership experience and 35 contact hours of PM education, which this course provides. We will help you check your eligibility.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and an exam simulator that mirrors the 180-question format, helping you find weak areas and build exam-day confidence.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, so you study against the up-to-date exam rather than an older version.

Do I receive contact hours toward PMP eligibility?

Yes. On completing the training you earn 35 contact hours of project management education, which satisfies that PMI eligibility requirement and is documented for your application.

    Enrollment

Who is eligible to enrol in PMP training?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the PMP exam afterwards, PMI requires either a four-year degree with 36 months of leading projects, or a secondary diploma with 60 months, plus 35 contact hours of PM education in both cases.

How do I enrol in the PMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor to see upcoming batches in Ghana.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or move to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
