Market Forces Driving PgMP Demand in the Dominican Republic

    Tourism and Hospitality Mega-Projects

The Dominican Republic is the Caribbean's most visited destination, drawing over 11 million visitors a year. Resort, airport and hospitality build-outs run as multi-project programmes that need programme-grade governance.

    PgMP builds programme governance skills

    Banking Digital Transformation

Leading banks run core-banking, payments and digital programmes across many workstreams. Weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that certified programme leaders are hired to close.

PgMP builds prioritisation and benefit skills

    Free Zone and Manufacturing Growth

With 92 free zones housing around 850 companies in medical devices and electronics, expansion and modernisation efforts span multiple projects that demand coordinated programme planning and benefits tracking.

    PgMP builds benefits realisation skills

    Infrastructure and Energy Build-Out

Construction makes up around 15% of GDP, and energy and mining programmes are capital-intensive. These portfolios need programme-grade risk aggregation and cross-project coordination at scale.

    PgMP builds programme risk skills

    Programme Talent Scarcity

The Dominican market is deep in PMP project managers but thin in credentialed programme managers. PgMP's rigorous eligibility and panel review make holders rare and sought-after by senior employers.

PgMP makes certified leaders stand out

    Telecom and Connectivity Rollout

Operators are expanding fibre and mobile coverage that already reaches most of the population. Network transformation runs across many technology workstreams, requiring programme-level control and stakeholder alignment.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PgMP is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits programme managers, PMO leaders and directors, and is held by fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide, making it one of PMI's most exclusive certifications.

    General

What is the Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification?

PgMP is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits programme managers, PMO leaders and directors, and is held by fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide, making it one of PMI's most exclusive certifications.

Is PgMP worth it for professionals in the Dominican Republic?

Yes. PgMP marks you as a senior programme leader in a market where banks, tourism groups, free zones and infrastructure firms run large portfolios of projects. Senior programme and PMO roles in the Dominican Republic reach well beyond RD$2.6M a year, and demand for certified leaders is rising. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

    Is PMP required before PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

    Who should take PgMP training?

PgMP training suits senior programme managers, PMO heads, delivery directors and PMP holders moving up to programme level. It is designed for experienced practitioners who coordinate multiple related projects to achieve strategic organisational goals.

How long is the PgMP valid and how do I renew it?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, reported through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

    Pricing

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review guidance, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Request a quote for the current inclusions.

How much does PgMP training cost in the Dominican Republic?

Training fees vary by format and cohort, so they are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote or talk to a learning advisor for current pricing.

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing, with members paying less than non-members (for reference, around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members). PMI membership of about USD 139 a year can reduce the cost. Confirm current fees on pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, business units and leadership teams across the Dominican Republic. Contact us for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management (4th Edition). It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). Results are reported with domain-level feedback rather than a fixed percentage score.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The training covers all five in depth.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma you need 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus 84 months of programme management experience; with a four-year degree the programme requirement drops to 48 months; a GAC-accredited degree reduces it further. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

How many attempts do I get and what is the passing score?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PgMP training?

You will learn to align programmes to strategy, manage the full programme life cycle, realise benefits, engage stakeholders and govern delivery, across PMI's five performance domains, plus how to prepare your application and approach the panel review and exam.

Which standard is the training based on?

The courseware is aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline and the fourth edition of PMI's Standard for Program Management, so your preparation reflects the framework PMI assesses.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the exam domains, helping you identify weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question, four-hour paper.

Do I need prior experience to attend the training?

Anyone can attend the training, but PgMP is a senior credential. To sit the exam you need substantial project and programme management experience under one of PMI's three eligibility sets. The training suits experienced practitioners preparing for that step.

What learning materials and support are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, the Standard for Program Management overview, templates, flashcards and quizzes, along with dedicated learner support throughout.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PgMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you would like guidance first.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style across the Dominican Republic.

    How soon can I start?

New cohorts run regularly in live virtual and corporate formats. View upcoming schedules or speak with a learning advisor to find the next batch that suits you and to plan your PgMP application timeline.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include a pass to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
