Business Analyst Demand in the Dominican RepublicCareers and Growth

Business analysis is one of the clearest bridges between the Dominican Republic's fast-growing technology sector and the teams that fund it. As banks, fintechs and nearshore IT providers run more digital projects, employers in Santo Domingo and Santiago increasingly seek analysts who can turn business needs into clear, testable requirements. Roles range from business analyst and systems analyst to requirements engineer and product owner, and here is what the market is signalling right now.

What Is Driving Business Analysis Demand in the Dominican Republic

    The Business-To-IT Translation Gap

Dominican banks and IT firms run more digital projects than ever, but many lack analysts who can turn business goals into clear, testable requirements. That gap is exactly what certified business analysts close.

Foundation and Practitioner skills close this gap

    Fintech Growth Outpacing Analysis Skills

With 80 or more fintechs now operating locally, demand for people who can define digital payment and financial-inclusion products is rising faster than the supply of trained analysts.

    Learn requirements and modelling techniques

    Nearshore Delivery Raising the Bar

As US firms move mid-market work to the Dominican Republic, delivery teams need analysts who can scope requirements to recognised standards, not simply gather notes.

    Scope requirements to international standards

    Requirements Failure and Rework

Poorly defined requirements remain a leading cause of project overrun. Employers value analysts trained to elicit, model and validate requirements the right way.

    Build validation and traceability skills

    Regulatory and Compliance Pressure

Banking and fintech regulation means change projects must be documented and traceable, a core strength of structured, BCS-aligned business analysis practice.

    Apply BCS-aligned analysis practice

    Scarce Practitioner-Level Talent

The local market has many general analysts but few with an applied, assessed practitioner credential, making certified professionals stand out to hiring managers.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

It is a combined, two-level business analysis credential awarded by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. The Foundation level validates core business analysis knowledge, and the Practitioner level validates your ability to apply BA techniques in realistic project scenarios. Both are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

    General

What is the Business Analysis Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a combined, two-level business analysis credential awarded by EXIN in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. The Foundation level validates core business analysis knowledge, and the Practitioner level validates your ability to apply BA techniques in realistic project scenarios. Both are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Who should take this business analysis programme?

It suits aspiring analysts, IT professionals moving into a BA role, project team members, and practising analysts who want a formal credential. In the Dominican Republic it is especially valuable for those working in banking, fintech, IT services and BPO, where requirements skills are in demand.

Is the EXIN BCS business analysis certification recognised in the Dominican Republic?

Yes. EXIN operates in over 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered professional body for IT, so the credential is recognised by local and international employers. Dominican banks, fintechs and nearshore IT providers value a structured, BCS-aligned analysis method.

Is this business analysis certification worth it?

Yes. Certified business analysts bridge business and IT teams, a skill in short supply as the Dominican Republic grows as a nearshore technology hub. The credential opens roles such as business analyst, systems analyst and requirements engineer, and both certificates are valid for life with no renewal.

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certificates are valid for life. Neither expires, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing-education requirement once you have passed each exam.

    Pricing

How much does the business analysis training cost in the Dominican Republic?

Fees vary by delivery format, whether live virtual, classroom or corporate group training, and are available on request. The package typically includes accredited courseware, mock exams and practice questions. Request a quote for current pricing and upcoming batches.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry case studies, Foundation and Practitioner practice questions, mock exams, learner support and a course completion certificate. Confirm the exact inclusions for your chosen format when you request a quote.

Are the exam vouchers included in the price?

Exam vouchers are often bundled into the combined training and dual exam package, but EXIN pricing varies by region and channel. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner vouchers are included for your enrolment when you speak with a learning advisor.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across the Dominican Republic. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the Foundation and Practitioner exams?

Both are closed-book, multiple-choice exams. The Foundation exam tests knowledge and comprehension across 14 topic areas with single-answer questions. The Practitioner exam is scenario-based across 7 topic areas, testing how you apply techniques to realistic project situations.

How many questions are there and how long is each exam?

Each exam has 40 questions and a duration of 60 minutes. You sit two separate EXIN examinations, one for Foundation and one for Practitioner, and must pass both to hold both credentials.

    What is the passing score?

The pass mark is 65% for both exams, which is 26 correct answers out of 40. The same threshold applies to the Foundation and the Practitioner examinations.

Where can I sit the EXIN exams?

You can take both exams online through EXIN's online proctored system, or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are usually arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined training and dual exam package.

Which standard are the exams based on?

Both exams are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge and follow the EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner Examination Specifications, developed in partnership with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

    Course Content

What topics does the training cover?

Foundation covers 14 topic areas, including investigation techniques, requirements engineering, business process modelling, stakeholder management, strategy analysis and business cases. Practitioner covers 7 applied areas that test how you use these techniques in project scenarios.

What is the difference between the Foundation and Practitioner levels?

Foundation builds knowledge and comprehension of business analysis concepts and techniques. Practitioner builds on that to test application and analysis through scenario-based questions. The Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, so beginners are welcome. The training is structured to take you from core concepts to applied practitioner skills, with case studies and practice throughout.

What learning materials and practice are provided?

You receive EXIN BCS aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies, Foundation and Practitioner practice questions and mock exams, plus learner support. These help you build understanding and prepare for both examinations.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after meeting the course requirements. The official EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner certificates are awarded separately by EXIN once you pass each exam.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements to enrol?

Anyone can enrol in the training. The Foundation level has no formal prerequisites, and the Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite before sitting the Practitioner exam. No formal education or work experience is required to begin.

How do I enrol in the course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, and customised corporate group training. This lets professionals across the Dominican Republic choose the format that best fits their schedule.

    How soon can I start?

New batches run regularly in live virtual and corporate formats. See upcoming schedules or speak with a learning advisor to pick a start date that works for you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. Contact support to arrange a change to your enrolment.
