The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and a 230-minute (3 hours 50 minutes) time limit. It is closed book with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions, based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and construction industry standards.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, reflecting how central contracts, claims and disputes are to construction delivery.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

How many attempts do I get for the PMI-CP exam?

What topics are covered in the PMI-CP training?

The training covers all four PMI-CP domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management and Project Governance. You learn contract types and delivery models, variation and claims handling, stakeholder engagement, scope and change control, and governance and compliance.

Do I need to complete the four prerequisite modules for PMI-CP?

Yes. Before applying, all candidates must complete four self-paced modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, 56 PDUs in total.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education required across all three eligibility sets. Check with our team whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.
