How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. Results are reported with domain-level performance feedback across the four exam domains.

What are the four PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The four domains are Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), per the official Examination Content Outline. Contracts Management is by far the largest area of the exam.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all four domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You are permitted up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts, and our training and mock exams are designed to prepare you thoroughly for a first-time pass.

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four exam domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance, alongside contract risk, claims, quality and exam strategy. Content is mapped to the current ECO and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition.

Do I need to complete the four prerequisite modules?

Yes. PMI requires all candidates to complete four mandatory self-paced modules before applying: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each awards 14 PDUs, 56 PDUs in total, and our team guides you through them.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires. Ask our advisors about supplementary self-study or pre-reading credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Beyond completing the four prerequisite modules, you meet one of three sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, plus 35 contact hours of PM education in each case.
