Market Forces Driving PgMP Demand in Berlin

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Berlin boards fund digital and transformation programmes, but weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that PgMP holders are hired to close.

PgMP builds prioritisation and value-realisation skills

    Digital Economy at Scale

With ICT creating roughly every fifth new job, Berlin employers run many concurrent programmes and need programme-grade governance and coordination, not just project delivery.

PgMP builds programme governance and coordination skills

    Energy Transition Complexity

As renewables pass 57% of German power, green-tech and utility programmes demand benefits management, risk aggregation and cross-project coordination at scale.

PgMP builds benefits and programme risk skills

    Programme Talent Scarcity

Berlin's talent pool is deep in PMP project managers but thin in credentialed programme leaders. PgMP's rigorous eligibility and panel review make holders rare and sought-after.

PgMP makes certified programme leaders stand out

    Transformation Under Cost Pressure

Scale-ups and enterprises under margin pressure must optimise their programme mix, stopping low-value work and rebalancing to strategy, a core PgMP capability.

    PgMP builds portfolio optimisation skills

    Governance Maturity Gap

Fast-growing Berlin firms often lack a strategy-aligned programme governance layer, the exact gap that PgMP is designed to close for senior leaders.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's expert-level credential for senior professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits programme managers, PMO heads and transformation directors with substantial experience.

    General

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's expert-level credential for senior professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits programme managers, PMO heads and transformation directors with substantial experience.

Is the PgMP worth it for programme leaders in Berlin?

Yes. PgMP is a globally recognised PMI credential held by fewer than 3,000 professionals worldwide, which makes holders rare in Berlin's competitive market. It signals expert programme leadership to IT, consulting, energy and public-sector employers. Talk to a learning advisor to see if it fits your goals.

Why choose Invensis Learning for PgMP training in Berlin?

Invensis Learning is a PMI Authorized Training Partner offering PMI-aligned courseware, experienced trainers, flexible formats and dedicated support for the PgMP application and panel review, helping you move from preparation to certification with a clear path.

Is PMP required before taking PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    Pricing

How much does PgMP training cost in Berlin?

Instructor-led PgMP training fees in Berlin are available on request and vary by format and schedule. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, PMI lists around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members; confirm the current figure on the PMI store before applying.

Does PMI membership reduce the cost?

Yes. PMI individual membership, listed for reference at about USD 139 per year, lowers the exam and renewal fees and gives access to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Verify current rates on pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs and leadership teams in Berlin. Contact us for a tailored quote.

    Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions are distributed across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The life cycle domain carries the most weight.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP, in which a panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. You must pass both the panel review and the written exam to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and reexamination fees apply. Our training includes practice and revision support to help you prepare thoroughly before you sit the exam.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: strategic programme management, programme life cycle management, benefits management, stakeholder engagement and governance, plus PMI application and panel-review preparation and exam strategy.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PgMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline and the 4th edition of The Standard for Program Management, which forms the reference framework for the exam.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?

The training is built for experienced professionals, since PgMP eligibility requires substantial project and programme management experience. It suits programme managers and PMO leaders preparing for the credential.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, a Standard for Program Management overview, templates, quizzes and practice questions mapped to the exam.

How many contact hours does the training provide?

The instructor-led programme provides 24 contact hours of training. PgMP has no mandatory contact-hour prerequisite, so these hours serve as focused exam preparation and knowledge consolidation.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for PgMP?

PgMP offers three eligibility sets. With a four-year degree you need 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP, plus 48 months of programme management experience within the last 15 years; other sets adjust the thresholds. A panel review is also required.

How do I enrol in the PgMP course in Berlin?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need guidance.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate group training in Berlin, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule.

    How soon can I start?

New batches run regularly across live virtual and classroom formats. View upcoming schedules or speak with a learning advisor to find the next available cohort that suits you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.
