Why the PMI-CP Credential Is Worth EarningValue for Construction Professionals and Teams

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

PMI-CP training helps construction professionals build the contracting, governance and stakeholder skills the credential validates, and prepares them for the 120-question PMI-CP exam. It suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers and PMP holders specialising in construction. Whether you are formalising your project authority, moving up from site management, or leading builds across data centres, aviation or commercial property in the Rhine-Main region, this training aligns you with what senior construction employers expect.

If you want a globally recognised construction project management credential, PMI-CP is a clear path forward. You gain domain-aligned knowledge, guidance on the four mandatory prerequisite modules, and a structured, supported route from learning to certification.

Why Construction Employers in Frankfurt Need Certified PMs

    Skilled Construction Talent Shortage

Germany is short more than 100,000 skilled construction workers and vacancies stay open 160-plus days. Employers prize certified leaders who can deliver reliably with stretched teams.

    PMI-CP proves construction delivery capability

Rising Costs and Longer Build Times

German construction prices have risen more than 35% since 2020 and average build times have stretched from 20 to 26 months, making disciplined cost and schedule control essential.

PMI-CP builds cost, scope and schedule control

    Data Centre and Mission-Critical Complexity

Frankfurt's data centre boom demands high-spec civil works, complex MEP and mission-critical fit-out, the kind of multi-phase programme PMI-CP governance and interface skills are built to run.

PMI-CP builds governance for complex programmes

    Contract and Claims Exposure

Contracts Management is 50% of the PMI-CP exam for good reason. Delay, disruption and change-order disputes drain value, so employers want leaders who administer contracts and claims well.

PMI-CP masters contracts, the largest ECO domain

    Airport and Infrastructure Scale

Fraport runs around 300 projects a year across Frankfurt Airport, requiring portfolio-grade prioritisation, regulatory engagement and cross-programme coordination at scale.

PMI-CP builds stakeholder and coordination skills

    Capital Discipline and Financing Pressure

With financing costs at 3.5 to 4% and many projects reappraised, firms must prioritise viable work and manage risk tightly, favouring leaders who can protect margin and value.

PMI-CP is more than a credential. It is a career multiplier for construction leaders who deliver complex projects predictably. Join professionals mastering contracts, governance and risk on Frankfurt's biggest builds. Start your journey today.

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)?

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist certification for the construction industry. Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, single-answer and multiple-answer, based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide. It is delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. Questions are distributed across the four ECO domains, with Contracts Management the largest at 50%.

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-CP exam?

You must complete all four self-paced PMI-CP prerequisite modules and meet one experience and education set: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, plus 35 contact hours of PM education.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our prep, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you prepare with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers all four ECO domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%), and Project Governance (5%), including contract types, change orders, claims, stakeholder engagement, scope, schedule, cost, risk and governance.

Can a beginner take this course, or do I need experience?

PMI-CP is an advanced, construction-specific credential, so you need real construction project management experience to sit the exam. The training itself welcomes practitioners at different levels and builds structured understanding, with support throughout to strengthen weaker areas.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware mapped to the ECO, practice questions and mock exams, references to the PMI-CP Handbook and Examination Content Outline, and guidance on the four mandatory prerequisite modules and the application process.

Is the courseware aligned to the current PMI-CP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide, along with construction industry practices referenced in the ECO, so your preparation reflects what the exam actually tests.

Do the four prerequisite modules earn PDUs?

Yes. Each of the four self-paced PMI-CP prerequisite modules awards 14 PDUs, 56 in total, which you can apply toward certification renewal. Each module is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and can be completed in any order before you apply.
