Industry Forces Driving Change Management Demand in Dortmund

A City Built on Structural Change

Dortmund reinvented itself from coal and steel into services and tech, as sites like Phoenix See show. Employers still manage constant restructuring, the exact people-side challenge change management addresses.

    CM-F&P builds organisational change capability

    Insurers Overhauling How They Work

Signal Iduna and other Dortmund insurers are running agile and digital transformation. These shifts fail without structured adoption, so certified change professionals are increasingly in demand.

    CM-F&P builds stakeholder engagement skills

    Logistics Automation at Scale

With 900 plus logistics firms, Dortmund is automating warehouses and processes fast. New systems change roles and routines, and change managers keep people engaged through the transition.

CM-F&P builds change practice and planning skills

    The Ruhr Energy Transition

RWE, Amprion and regional utilities are driving net-zero and grid transformation. These long programmes need portfolio-grade change leadership to align people, culture and new ways of working.

CM-F&P builds change readiness and resilience skills

    Change Fatigue and Resistance

Employees facing constant concurrent change often disengage. Trained change practitioners diagnose stalled adoption with models like ADKAR and rebuild momentum before value leaks away.

    CM-F&P builds resistance management skills

    Scarcity of Certified Change Talent

The Ruhr has deep project delivery talent but fewer credentialed change professionals. A recognised Foundation and Practitioner qualification makes you visible to employers hiring now.

The Change Management Skills You Will BuildFrom Individual Transition to Organisational Change

The Change Management Foundation and Practitioner programme moves you from knowing the models to applying them. By the end, you can guide individuals through transition, lead organisational change, engage stakeholders, and build change plans that make transformation stick.

    Guide Individuals Through Change

The skills covered in the Change Management course start with the human side: how people experience change. Apply ADKAR, Bridges' Transition Model, motivation theory and resistance handling to help individuals move from endings to new beginnings.

    Lead Organisational Change

Select and apply the right organisational models to real scenarios, including Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model, McKinsey 7-S and Schein's culture model, and assess change readiness across the change lifecycle.

    Engage Stakeholders and Communicate

Identify and analyse stakeholders with power and interest tools, build a targeted engagement strategy, design a change communication plan, and use Cialdini's principles of influence to manage resistance through dialogue.

    Plan and Deliver Change Practice

Run change impact assessments, build a complete change management plan across engagement, communication, training and embedding, and diagnose the failure points that cause change to fade after go-live.

    Manage Yourself as a Practitioner

Develop the emotional intelligence, coaching and facilitation skills change leaders rely on, apply Goleman's four domains, and navigate ethics and professional conduct grounded in the CMBoK.

Apply Models and Pass Both Exams

Practise scenario-based analysis for the open-book Practitioner exam and single-answer questions for the closed-book Foundation exam, building the guide-navigation and judgment skills both papers reward.

Certified change managers in Germany earn strong salaries, averaging around 77,000 euro per year, with senior leads far higher.

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

It is a two-level qualification covering the people and culture side of organisational change. Foundation validates knowledge of change concepts and models, while Practitioner validates your ability to apply them to real scenarios. Both are aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) and the official syllabi.

Who should take this change management course?

It suits change managers, project and programme managers, HR business partners, organisational development practitioners, consultants and senior leaders who sponsor or deliver change. Foundation is open to all, so no prior change management experience is required to start.

Why choose Invensis Learning for this training?

Invensis Learning offers courseware aligned to the official Foundation and Practitioner syllabi, experienced change-qualified trainers, flexible delivery and support for both exams. Our operations are ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022 certified, giving you a quality, secure learning experience.

    Pricing

How much does the Change Management training cost in Dortmund?

What is included in the course fee?

The fee usually includes instructor-led training aligned to both syllabi, courseware, industry case studies, mock exams and practice questions for both levels, and learner support. Verify exam voucher inclusion when you request your quote.

Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and guidance aimed at helping you pass both exams on the first attempt. If a resit is needed, we advise on the process; verify current resit fees and voucher validity with Invensis Learning.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice, single-answer questions to complete in 40 minutes. It is closed book, with a pass mark of 50 percent, meaning 25 correct out of 50. There are no prerequisites to sit it.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has five scenario-based sections worth 16 marks each, 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours. It is open book, with the Change Management Practitioner Guide permitted, and the pass mark is 50 percent, meaning 40 out of 80 marks.

How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams. You sit and pass the closed-book Foundation exam and the open-book, scenario-based Practitioner exam to hold both credentials. Foundation is a prerequisite for the Practitioner exam.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

You may use the Change Management Practitioner Guide during the exam, but the scenario questions require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look answers up. Efficient guide navigation and deep model knowledge are both essential.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, regardless of experience. The programme builds from change concepts up to applied practice, so beginners and experienced professionals both progress at a supported pace.

What topics are covered in the training?

The course covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organisation, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management, applied at both Foundation and Practitioner level.

What change management models will I learn?

You learn established models including ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step Model, Lewin's Three-Step Model, McKinsey 7-S, Bridges' Transition Model, Schein's culture model, Goleman's emotional intelligence domains and Cialdini's principles of influence.

Which standard is the course aligned to?

The course is aligned to the current Change Management Practitioner Guide and the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute, and to the official Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi.

Are practice tests and materials included?

Yes. The programme includes courseware, industry-driven case studies, and mock exams and practice questions for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

    What training formats are available?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, onsite classroom sessions, and customised corporate group training. This lets you choose the format that fits your schedule and your team's needs.

How long is the training programme?

The combined Foundation and Practitioner programme is delivered as 40 hours of training. The number of days varies with the schedule format, from an intensive full-day route to extended part-day options.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment?

Yes. Flexible options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. Contact our support team to arrange a change that suits you.
