Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential for professionals who identify, assess and manage project risk. It suits risk analysts, project managers, PMO professionals and consultants across Switzerland who want a globally recognised risk credential.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential for professionals who identify, assess and manage project risk. It suits risk analysts, project managers, PMO professionals and consultants across Switzerland who want a globally recognised risk credential.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Switzerland?

Yes. Risk expertise is in high demand across Swiss banking, insurance and pharma, where Risk Manager roles average around CHF 131,000 and senior roles exceed CHF 169,000. The credential sets certified risk specialists apart in a market short of them. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Is the PMP required before the PMI-RMP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite. You can apply for the PMI-RMP directly based on your project risk management experience and education, though many holders also hold the PMP, as the two credentials are complementary.

    Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers worldwide and is particularly valued in high-risk sectors such as banking, pharma, energy and construction, where formal project risk management is required.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The fee includes PMI-aligned courseware, over 30 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Request a quote for current pricing in Switzerland.

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Switzerland?

Training fees vary by format and cohort and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for the latest figures.

Is the exam fee included in the price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-RMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. PMI membership reduces the exam fee and gives free access to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline (ECO) effective January 2022. Questions include single-answer and multiple-answer formats, delivered online or at a test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes).

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

Five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our practice questions and mock exams, aligned to the 115-question format, are designed to help you prepare and pass with confidence.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam?

Online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system or at a Pearson VUE test centre, including locations in Switzerland. Scheduling is done via PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take PMI-RMP training?

You can enrol in the training at any level. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience plus 30 hours (Set B or C) or 40 hours (Set A) of risk education. This programme provides over 30 contact hours toward that requirement.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five ECO domains: risk strategy and planning, risk identification, risk analysis, risk response, and monitoring and closing risks, across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

What tools and techniques will I learn?

You learn qualitative and quantitative analysis, the probability/impact matrix, Monte Carlo simulation, decision-tree analysis, risk response strategies, risk breakdown structures and monitoring techniques.

Does the training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The programme provides over 30 contact hours of risk education, fully meeting the requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C candidates. Set A candidates (high school diploma) need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.

Is the courseware aligned to the current PMI-RMP exam?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline, effective January 2022, and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.
