    Consistent Delivery Across the Team

"We ran the Advanced course onsite for our delivery team and standardised how everyone configures workflows and schemes. Reporting is far more consistent now, and we no longer depend on one person for every Jira change."

JIRA training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to use Jira, Atlassian's issue tracking and Agile delivery platform, to plan, track and deliver work. It suits developers, testers, Scrum Masters, project managers, business analysts and Jira administrators, and runs at Fundamentals and Advanced levels.

Yes. Jira is the standard Agile delivery tool across Swiss banking, insurance, pharma, fintech and software teams, so confident Jira skills are highly transferable. With 72% of Swiss employers reporting difficulty filling IT roles, proficiency in a widely used delivery tool is a real advantage.

Not for Fundamentals, which is designed for people new to or occasional users of Jira. The Advanced level assumes you have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience, as it covers configuration and administration in depth.

There are two levels. Fundamentals runs over two days (16 hours) and covers core Jira use. Advanced runs over three days (24 hours) and covers workflows, schemes, automation, integrations and administration. You can attend either independently or both in sequence.

Jira supports Scrum, Kanban and broader Agile and DevOps delivery, with Scrum boards, Kanban boards, sprints, backlogs and roadmaps. It integrates with the Atlassian ecosystem, including Confluence and Bitbucket, plus GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end delivery tracking.

    General

What is JIRA training and who is it for?

JIRA training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to use Jira, Atlassian's issue tracking and Agile delivery platform, to plan, track and deliver work. It suits developers, testers, Scrum Masters, project managers, business analysts and Jira administrators, and runs at Fundamentals and Advanced levels.

Is JIRA training worth it in Switzerland?

Do I need prior Jira experience to attend?

Not for Fundamentals, which is designed for people new to or occasional users of Jira. The Advanced level assumes you have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience, as it covers configuration and administration in depth.

What levels does the training cover?

There are two levels. Fundamentals runs over two days (16 hours) and covers core Jira use. Advanced runs over three days (24 hours) and covers workflows, schemes, automation, integrations and administration. You can attend either independently or both in sequence.

Which frameworks and tools does Jira support?

Jira supports Scrum, Kanban and broader Agile and DevOps delivery, with Scrum boards, Kanban boards, sprints, backlogs and roadmaps. It integrates with the Atlassian ecosystem, including Confluence and Bitbucket, plus GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end delivery tracking.

    Pricing

How much does JIRA training cost in Switzerland?

Pricing varies by level, delivery format and group size, and is available on request. Fundamentals, Advanced, individual and corporate options are all quoted separately. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current pricing for your preferred format.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training, structured courseware and learning resources, hands-on Jira exercises, learner support and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Corporate programmes can also include tailored content built around your own projects.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Switzerland. Contact us for a tailored quote based on your team size, level mix and preferred delivery format.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you or your organisation.

Do I need a paid Jira licence to take the training?

You should have access to a Jira environment for the hands-on exercises. Jira Cloud offers a free tier suitable for practice. Ask us whether a shared training environment is provided for your session, or set up a free Jira Cloud trial before you start.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for JIRA training?

No. JIRA training is a non-certification, skills-focused course with no examination at either level. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities, and you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

Do I receive anything on completing the training?

Yes. On completing each level you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. This recognises that you have finished the programme; it is a record of training, not a formal external credential, and the skills apply immediately at work.

How is learning assessed during the course?

Through practice rather than a test. You follow along in a live Jira environment while the trainer demonstrates each feature, then complete hands-on exercises using realistic Agile delivery scenarios, so you build genuine proficiency as you go.

What will I be able to do after Fundamentals?

You will be able to create and configure Scrum, Kanban and business projects, manage issues across the Epic, Story, Task, Bug and Subtask hierarchy, run sprints and Kanban boards, plan releases with versions, write basic JQL filters, and read core Agile reports.

What will I be able to do after Advanced?

You will be able to design custom workflows with conditions, validators and post-functions, apply permission, notification, screen and field configuration schemes, create custom fields, write advanced JQL, build dashboards, configure automation rules, and administer a Jira instance.

    Course Content

What topics does the JIRA training cover?

Fundamentals covers projects, issues, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, versions, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports. Advanced covers workflow design, schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, automation, DevOps integrations and Jira administration.

What is the difference between Fundamentals and Advanced?

Fundamentals builds core, day-to-day Jira skills for creating and tracking work. Advanced focuses on configuration and administration, including workflows, schemes, automation, integrations and governance, for experienced users who want to master how Jira is set up and run.

    Are there hands-on exercises throughout?

Yes. Both levels are delivered with live Jira exercises. You work in a Jira environment alongside the trainer, applying each feature to realistic Agile delivery scenarios so the skills transfer straight to your own projects.

Does the training cover JQL and automation?

Yes. Fundamentals introduces filters and basic JQL, while Advanced goes deeper into JQL, including the CHANGED and WAS operators, and covers Jira automation rules using triggers, conditions, actions and smart values for auto-assignment, transitions and integrations.

Is the training based on Jira Cloud or Data Center?

The training focuses on Jira Software and is delivered primarily using Jira Cloud, the most common deployment. The skills apply to Jira Data Center as well; we can confirm the environment and any differences relevant to your setup before the session.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in JIRA training?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your level and preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing the right level.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, classroom and onsite training, and customised corporate group training. This lets you choose the format that fits your schedule, whether you are learning individually or with a team in Switzerland.

Can I arrange training for my whole team?

Yes. Corporate group training is available onsite or live virtual, with schedules and content tailored to your team. It is especially effective when exercises use your organisation's own Jira projects and workflows. Request a quote to plan a group session.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexible options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. Contact our support team and we will help you move to a date that works for you.

    How soon can I start?

We run regular virtual and classroom schedules, and corporate sessions can be arranged around your team's availability. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to find the earliest start date that suits you.
