No. The CAPM is the only PMI practitioner credential that requires no project management work experience. You need a secondary degree, such as a high school diploma or global equivalent, plus 23 hours of project management education, which this training provides.

Is CAPM recognised by employers in Switzerland?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the CAPM carries global recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries. Swiss employers value it as a credible signal that you understand project fundamentals and are committed to the profession.

How long is the CAPM certification valid?

The CAPM is valid for three years from the date you certify. To maintain it, you retake and pass the CAPM exam within the three-year cycle. Unlike the PMP, CAPM renewal does not use PDUs.

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The exam is built on the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023 and covers four domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%), and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%).

How many questions are on the CAPM exam and how long is it?

The CAPM exam has 150 multiple-choice questions and you have three hours (180 minutes) to complete it. It is a closed-book exam aligned to the 2023 ECO and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

Is there a fixed passing score for the CAPM exam?

No. PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with performance feedback across the four CAPM domains, so aim for broad mastery of all four.

Where can I take the CAPM exam?

You can sit the CAPM exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website or PMI's portal.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You may take the CAPM exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period. A reexamination fee applies to each retake. Our mock exams and domain-wise revision are designed to help you pass on your first attempt.
