Why Change Skills Are in Demand Across Zambia's Economy

    Mining Sector Reform and Restructuring

Reform under the Minerals Regulation Commission and new local content rules is restructuring how mines and state holdings operate, creating demand for leaders who can manage large-scale organisational change.

Change management builds structured transition skills

    Banking and Financial Services Reform

Review of the Banking and Financial Services Act and new deposit insurance are reshaping operating models, and banks need change-capable teams to embed new processes without disrupting customers.

Change management builds stakeholder engagement skills

    Telecom and Digital Transformation

With 5G, fibre and rapid mobile-money growth, operators are transforming services faster than teams adapt. Certified change practitioners help staff adopt new tools and ways of working.

Change management builds adoption and communication skills

    Public Sector Restructuring

Ministry restructuring and governance reforms are redesigning public bodies and services, demanding change managers who can guide people through structural and process change.

Change management builds governance and transition skills

    Change Practitioner Scarcity

Zambia has a deep pool of project managers but few professionals with a recognised change credential, making certified change practitioners rare and sought-after by employers.

Certification makes change leaders stand out

    Making Transformation Stick

Post-debt-restructuring efficiency drives and system rollouts often stall when adoption is weak. Organisations increasingly hire change practitioners to secure real, lasting results.

    Guiding Individuals Through Change

What you will learn in this change management course starts with people: how individuals experience change and how to move them through it using ADKAR and Bridges' Transition Model, addressing resistance, motivation and building resilience.

    Leading Organisational Change

Apply organisational change models including Lewin's Three-Step Model, Kotter's 8-Step Model and the McKinsey 7-S Framework, and assess culture and readiness to select the right approach for a given change.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

Identify and analyse stakeholders, build engagement strategies, and design change communication plans, using influence techniques to move people from awareness to commitment.

    Change Practice and Impact Assessment

Run change impact assessments, build change management plans, manage resistance, and design training and reinforcement that embeds and sustains new ways of working.

    Personal and Professional Management

Develop the emotional intelligence, coaching, ethics and self-management that underpin effective change practice, drawing on the CMBoK and reflective professional development.

    Passing Both Certification Exams

    General

What is the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification?

    Pricing

How much does change management training cost in Zambia?

Fees vary by delivery format and whether exam vouchers are included, so pricing for Zambia is available on request in local currency. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share the current options for the combined programme.

What is included in the course fee?

The training typically includes syllabus-aligned courseware, case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both levels, plus learner support and a course completion certificate. Confirm exam voucher inclusion when you request your quote.

Are the exam fees included in the price?

Exam voucher inclusion depends on the package you choose. Some options bundle the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers, while others price them separately. Ask a learning advisor to confirm what your quote covers.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many exams are in the combined programme?

Two separate exams. You sit the Foundation exam first, then the Practitioner exam, and must pass both to hold both credentials. The combined programme prepares you for each level in sequence.

What is the Foundation exam format?

The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 40 minutes. It is closed book, and the pass mark is 50%, meaning 25 out of 50 correct.

What is the Practitioner exam format?

The Practitioner exam has 5 scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total, over 2.5 hours. It is open book, and the pass mark is 50%, meaning 40 out of 80 marks.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted during the exam. However, the scenario sections require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential, and the course prepares you for both.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

Our training is structured to help you pass both exams the first time through mock exams and exam technique. If you need to re-sit, our team can guide you on the retake process. Confirm current re-sit policy when you enrol.

Which standard is the exam based on?

Both exams are based on the current Change Management Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi, aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) maintained by the Change Management Institute and the current Change Management Practitioner Guide.

The syllabus covers five areas: change and the individual, change and the organisation, communication and stakeholder engagement, change practice, and personal and professional management. Foundation covers them at knowledge level and Practitioner at application level.

Can a beginner take this course?
