What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Sweden?

Yes. The credential is valued across Sweden's defence, energy, engineering and financial services sectors, where formal risk management is often required. Certified risk specialists are in short supply, and the credential supports higher-earning senior roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need a PMP before taking PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education. Many professionals hold both, as the credentials are highly complementary.

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-RMP?

There are three sets. Set A: a high school diploma plus 36 months of project risk management experience in the last 5 years and 40 hours of risk education. Set B: a bachelor's degree plus 24 months and 30 hours. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree plus 12 months and 30 hours.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. You maintain it by earning 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, reported through PMI's CCR system.

How much does PMI-RMP training cost in Sweden?

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Request a quote for full details.

How much is the PMI-RMP exam fee?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership (about USD 139 per year) lowers the exam fee and gives free access to the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The exam is closed-book with 115 multiple-choice questions (single and multiple answer), delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or a test centre. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and a time allowance of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). Questions are scenario-based and test how you apply risk tools and techniques, not just recall.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

How many attempts do I get, and what if I do not pass?

You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. If you do not pass, a reexamination fee applies to the second and third attempts, and our prep support helps you target weaker domains before you retake.

Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-RMP training?

You learn the full project risk lifecycle across the five ECO domains: risk strategy and planning, risk identification, risk analysis, risk response, and monitoring and closing risks, applied to predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

Does the training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which fully meets the 30-hour requirement for Set B and Set C candidates. Set A candidates (high school diploma) need 40 hours and should add at least 8 further hours of training.

Is the courseware aligned to the current PMI-RMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, so you study against the current exam scope.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 115-question, closed-book format, plus quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Can I take PMI-RMP if I am new to formal risk management?

The training is beginner-friendly in its explanations, but the PMI-RMP exam requires documented project risk management experience. If you are early in your risk career, the course builds the knowledge base while you accrue the required experience.
