What is the Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification?

Who should take PgMP training in Sweden?

PgMP suits senior programme managers, PMO heads, directors of delivery and PMP holders moving into programme roles. In Sweden it fits leaders in industrial, automotive, telecom, finance and public-sector organisations that run large, strategy-critical portfolios.

Is the PgMP recognised in Sweden?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PgMP carries the same global recognition as the PMP and is valued by Swedish and international employers. PMI credentials are recognised in more than 200 countries, so the certification travels across sectors and borders.

Is the PgMP worth it for programme managers in Sweden?

Yes. The credential validates senior programme leadership and opens roles such as Programme Manager, Head of PMO and Programme Director. In Sweden these roles reach into PMO manager and director salary bands above 900,000 kr. Talk to a learning advisor about your goals.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

Do I need a PMP before taking PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

What is included in the PgMP training fee?

The training fee typically covers PMI-aligned courseware, instructor-led sessions, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, and support for the PMI application and panel review, plus a course completion certificate. Request a quote for current pricing in Sweden.

How much does the PgMP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, for reference around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members. Verify current fees at pmi.org, as PMI updates pricing periodically. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI and is not part of the Invensis Learning training fee. Membership can lower both the exam fee and later renewal costs.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination of 170 questions with a four-hour time limit. It is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and is delivered through Pearson VUE.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. You must pass both the panel review and the written exam to earn the credential.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management is the largest single domain.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

How many attempts do I get and where can I sit it?

You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility period. You can sit the exam via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre in Sweden or worldwide.

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers the five PgMP domains, Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus programme roadmapping, benefits realisation, governance frameworks and exam strategy.

Can someone with mainly project experience take this?

The training welcomes experienced practitioners, but the PgMP credential expects substantial programme management experience. If you are strong in project delivery, the course helps you step up to programme-level governance and benefits management.

What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, an overview of the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, practice questions, templates and quizzes.

Are mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the 170-question format, helping you identify weak areas and build readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PgMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, 4th Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline, so you prepare against the framework the exam uses.

What are the eligibility requirements for PgMP?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma: 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP, plus 84 months of programme management experience. With a four-year degree: 48 months plus 48 months. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.
