    For Individuals

    For Individuals

PMI-CP training helps experienced construction professionals convert on-site delivery experience into a recognised, exam-based credential. Whether you are formalising your project authority, moving up from site management, or leading delivery on building, rail or industrial projects in Sweden, this training builds capability aligned with the four PMI-CP exam domains.

If you are aiming to lead complex construction projects with a globally recognised credential, PMI-CP is a clear step forward. You gain contract, stakeholder and governance knowledge, structured exam practice, and a supported journey that employers across the built environment value.

Construction Careers and Pay in SwedenWhat PMI-CP Delivers

PMI-CP is a strong marker of construction project management competency across Sweden, valued by contractors, consultancies and public clients delivering large, complex projects. Construction Demand Drivers Behind PMI-CP in Sweden

    Contract and Claims Exposure

Swedish megaprojects run under design-build and EPC contracts where delay and variation claims are common. Certified contract leaders reduce disputes and protect project value.

PMI-CP builds contract and claims capability

    Northern Green Industrial Buildout

Steel, hydrogen and minerals projects in the north demand construction leaders who can govern scope, aggregate risk and coordinate stakeholders across large, complex programmes.

PMI-CP builds scope, risk and stakeholder skills

    Rail and Transport Surge

Trafikverket's 2026-2037 transport plan funds major rail and road works, requiring portfolio-grade prioritisation, reporting and cross-programme coordination at scale.

PMI-CP builds governance and coordination skills

    Construction Skills Shortage

Tens of thousands of roles sit unfilled in Sweden's labour market. Employers short of qualified project leaders value a recognised, construction-specific credential highly.

PMI-CP makes credentialed leaders stand out

    Regulatory and Stakeholder Pressure

Swedish permitting, environmental and community requirements make stakeholder engagement delivery-critical. Managing owners, regulators and the public is now a core project skill.

    PMI-CP builds stakeholder engagement skills

    Cost and Capital Discipline

Margin pressure and tighter capital discipline push owners and contractors to control budgets, change orders and scope, rewarding leaders who manage them rigorously.

    Your Sweden Career Transformation

    Where You Stand Today,

And Where the PMI-CP Takes You

Sweden's construction market is expanding with the national transport plan and the green industrial transition, and employers increasingly separate credentialed construction leaders from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

    Today

Pay capped with limited leverage to negotiate in the Swedish market

    After PMI-CP

Contracts Manager roles in Sweden average around kr 926,650, with senior bands reaching well beyond kr 1,100,000

    Today

Shortlisted less often for roles that list construction credentials

    After PMI-CP

Eligible for senior roles across building, rail, energy and consultancy

    Today

Confident on delivery, but employers want contract-level expertise

    After PMI-CP

Fluent in contract administration, claims and construction governance

    You earn your PMI-CP

    Before

Delivery skill proven by tenure, not by a recognised construction credential

    Now you have

A construction-specific PMI credential recognised across the built environment

    Before

Stuck at site level with limited formal project authority

    Now you have

A clear route into contracts manager and senior construction project roles

    Before

Strong on site, but light on contract and dispute management

    Now you have

The contract, claims and governance skills complex projects demand

    Before

Recognition tied to one employer or one type of project

    Now you have

A globally recognised credential that travels across sectors and countries

"On complex builds, the difference between running the site and running the project is increasingly a recognised credential, and Swedish employers already know it."

The Construction Skills You Will BuildMapped to the Four PMI-CP Exam Domains

The PMI-CP training programme builds practical, construction-specific capability mapped to the four exam domains. By the end, you can manage construction contracts and claims, engage stakeholders, and govern scope, risk and quality from pre-construction through closeout.

    Master Construction Contracts and Delivery

Skills covered in PMI-CP training start here: evaluate contract types and delivery methods such as lump sum, cost-plus, GMP, design-build and EPC, and advise on the risk each structure allocates. This is the largest exam domain, Contracts Management, at 50 percent.

    Administer Variations, Claims and Closeout

Administer contracts through their lifecycle: manage payment applications, variation orders and subcontracts, notify and evaluate delay and disruption claims, run dispute resolution, and close out final accounts, retainage and defects obligations.

    Engage Stakeholders Across the Lifecycle

Identify and engage owners, designers, subcontractors, regulators and communities. Plan communications, manage client relationships and public liaison, and maintain your project's social licence to operate. This maps to Stakeholder Engagement at 30 percent.

    Manage Strategy, Scope and Change

Define the project execution plan, baseline scope and the work breakdown structure, and operate a disciplined change process. Develop the schedule and budget, apply earned value, and manage risk and quality across the project.

    Establish Project Governance and Controls

Set up the governance framework, reporting and decision rights, run performance reviews and audits, control project documentation, and ensure regulatory and ethical compliance. This covers the Project Governance domain at 5 percent.

    Prepare for the PMI-CP Exam

Practise against the 120-question, 230-minute closed-book format with scenario-based questions weighted across the four domains, and get guidance on completing the four mandatory prerequisite modules before you apply to PMI.

    General

Is the PMI-CP certification worth it for construction professionals in Sweden?

Yes. The PMI-CP validates construction-specific project management skills that Swedish contractors, consultancies and public clients value, especially as the national transport plan and green industrial buildout scale up. It supports roles such as construction project manager and contracts manager, where senior pay in Sweden reaches well beyond kr 900,000 a year.

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)?

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management skills across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Uniquely, it requires completing four mandatory self-paced modules before you apply.

Who is the PMI-CP designed for?

The PMI-CP suits construction project managers, contracts leads, project engineers, site managers moving into project roles, owner's representatives and construction consultants. It is a mid-to-senior credential for professionals delivering building, civil, infrastructure or industrial projects.

Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-CP?

No. A PMP is not required. You can apply for the PMI-CP directly based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary: a PMP proves broad project management, while the PMI-CP proves construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across PMI's Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-CP training fee?

The training fee typically covers instructor-led sessions across all four PMI-CP domains, PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exam material, and guidance on the four prerequisite modules and PMI application. Contact us for a quote tailored to your format.

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with 120 multiple-choice questions in both single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes. Questions are distributed across the four domains, with Contracts Management the largest at 50 percent.

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-CP exam?

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing standard and does not publish a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What happens if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam first time?
