Capabilities You Will Master in This ProgrammePractical Project Risk Skills

This RMP training builds real project risk capability, not just exam recall. You will learn to lead risk management end to end, from setting strategy to closing risks, using PMI's five domains and the tools employers expect on live projects.

Set the Risk Strategy and Plan

Establish the risk management approach, framework and governance for a project. You will assess the environment for threats and opportunities, confirm risk thresholds, and document a risk management plan tailored to predictive, agile or hybrid delivery, aligned to Domain I of the current ECO.

    Identify Threats and Opportunities

Run structured identification using brainstorming, the Delphi technique, SWOT, assumption and constraint analysis and a risk breakdown structure. You will document risks in a clear cause-risk-effect register and validate it with stakeholders for completeness.

Analyse Risk with Qualitative and Quantitative Tools

Prioritise risks using a probability and impact matrix, then apply Monte Carlo simulation, decision-tree analysis, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value. You will translate analysis into tornado diagrams, heat maps and S-curves that leaders can act on.

    Plan and Implement Risk Responses

Develop response strategies for threats (avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept) and opportunities (exploit, share, enhance, accept). You will assign owners, set triggers, build contingency and fallback plans, and integrate reserves into the project baseline.

    Monitor, Report and Close Risks

Track residual and secondary risks, watch trigger conditions, and run periodic risk reviews as the project evolves. You will report risk status to stakeholders and governance bodies, and formally close risks with lessons learned captured.

Manage Risk in Agile and Hybrid Projects

Apply the RMP approach across delivery models, reflecting the updated January 2022 ECO. You will adapt identification, analysis and response cadence to iterative work so risk management stays effective in fast-moving Nordic project environments.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to project risks, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities. It is designed for risk specialists, project and programme managers and PMO analysts who focus on risk.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

PMI-RMP is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to project risks, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities. It is designed for risk specialists, project and programme managers and PMO analysts who focus on risk.

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Stockholm?

Yes. Project risk manager roles in Stockholm average around kr 944,000 a year, rising past kr 1.17m at senior level, and the credential is valued across banking, energy, construction and defence. As regulation tightens and megaprojects scale, certified risk specialists stand out.

Is PMP required before taking PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many RMP holders also hold PMP, as the two credentials are highly complementary.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

PMI-RMP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised in Sweden and internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the RMP is recognised by employers globally and across the Nordics. It is particularly valued in high-risk industries such as banking, energy, construction and defence, where formal project risk management is contractually or regulatorily required.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, full-length mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing in Stockholm.

How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

For reference, PMI lists the exam at around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members, billed separately from training and varying by region. PMI membership (about USD 139 a year) lowers the exam fee and gives free access to the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management. Verify current fees at pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for risk teams, PMOs and project functions across Stockholm. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

What payment methods and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Are there PMI membership costs to consider?

PMI membership is optional but often pays for itself. At about USD 139 a year, it reduces the exam and renewal fees and includes the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management. Renewal costs less for members too. These fees are separate from your training.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The RMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book, so preparation focuses on applying risk tools and techniques rather than pure recall.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

The January 2022 ECO covers five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%). The training maps directly to all five.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our practice exams and revision support are designed to help you pass the first time.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers the five RMP domains: risk strategy and planning, identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, response planning and implementation, and monitoring and closing risks, across predictive, agile and hybrid environments.

Does the training satisfy the RMP education prerequisite?

Yes for most candidates. The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) candidates. Set A (secondary diploma) candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of risk education.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions aligned to the 115-question, closed-book format, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training to build risk skills and earn the contact hours. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education under one of its three eligibility sets. We can help you check where you stand before you apply.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest RMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, including agile and hybrid risk approaches.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements to sit the exam?

PMI offers three sets. Set A: secondary diploma, 36 months of project risk experience in the last 5 years and 40 hours of risk education. Set B: bachelor's degree, 24 months and 30 hours. Set C: GAC-accredited degree, 12 months and 30 hours. Experience must be specific to project risk.
