Why Project Risk Expertise Is in Demand in Malmo

    Oresund Infrastructure Complexity

Cross-border links, rail and urban projects around the Oresund region demand portfolio-grade risk identification, analysis and coordination that few delivery teams are equipped to provide.

PMI-RMP builds risk analysis and coordination skills

    Energy Transition Risk

Offshore wind and grid projects in southern Sweden are high-consequence environments where disciplined project risk management is essential to protect cost, schedule and safety.

PMI-RMP builds structured risk response skills

    Regulated Life Science Delivery

Medicon Valley pharma and facility projects run under strict regulatory and quality regimes, making rigorous risk response and monitoring a core delivery requirement.

PMI-RMP builds risk monitoring and control skills

    Specialist Risk Talent Shortage

Skane has a deep pool of project managers but few credentialed risk specialists, so PMI-RMP holders are rare and stand out to employers hiring for dedicated risk roles.

PMI-RMP makes certified risk leaders stand out

    Rising ESG and Compliance Pressure

Nordic ESG and assurance expectations push organisations to formalise risk governance, creating steady demand for professionals who can embed it across projects.

    PMI-RMP builds risk governance skills

    Capital Discipline and Value Protection

Tighter budgets in construction, energy and BFSI push firms to control uncertainty, prioritise investment and prevent value leakage through stronger risk practice.

    PMI-RMP builds risk prioritisation skills

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in identifying risks, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities, and suits risk managers, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants.

    General

What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management. It recognises expertise in identifying risks, mitigating threats and capitalising on opportunities, and suits risk managers, senior project managers, PMO analysts and consultants.

Is PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Malmo?

Yes. PMI-RMP is valued by Malmo employers in construction, energy, life science and technology that run complex projects. Risk manager and PMO roles in Sweden average around 820,000 to 907,000 kr a year, and certified specialists stand out in a market short on risk talent.

Is PMP required before I take PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite. You can apply for PMI-RMP directly based on your risk management experience and education, though many holders also hold PMP, as the two credentials are complementary.

    Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential it is recognised by employers worldwide and across the Oresund region, and is especially valued in high-risk sectors such as construction, energy, defence and financial services.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The certification is valid for three years. You renew it by earning 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements programme.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The fee covers instructor-led sessions, PMI-aligned courseware, the 32 contact hours, practice questions and exam application guidance. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for current pricing in Malmo.

How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; fees vary by region, so confirm current prices at pmi.org. PMI membership, about USD 139 a year, lowers the exam fee.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with tailored schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and PMOs in Malmo. Contact us for a group quote for your team.

Is the exam fee part of the training price?

No. The PMI exam fee is paid separately to PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not included in the training fee.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PMI-RMP exam first time?

You can sit the exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period. Our practice questions, full domain coverage and trainer support are designed to help you pass on your first attempt.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam?

You can sit it online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website within your one-year eligibility window.

Which standard is the PMI-RMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, aligned to the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the current PMBOK Guide.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take PMI-RMP training?

Anyone can join the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education, but the programme is structured so both new and experienced risk practitioners can follow it.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five ECO domains, from risk strategy and identification through qualitative and quantitative analysis to response, monitoring and closing risks, plus exam strategy.

How many contact hours does the training provide?

The programme provides 32 contact hours of project risk management education, which fully satisfies the 30-hour requirement for the bachelor's degree (Set B) and GAC degree (Set C) eligibility paths.
