What Is Driving Demand for Construction Leaders in Stockholm

    Contract and Claims Complexity

Stockholm's large tunnel, metro and rail contracts generate variations, delay claims and disputes. The PMI-CP devotes half its exam to contracts management, the exact capability these projects demand.

The PMI-CP builds contract and dispute-management skills

    Infrastructure Megaprogramme Scale

A national infrastructure plan running to 2037 and a EUR 124 billion regional pipeline need portfolio-grade governance, reporting and risk control that certified construction leaders provide.

The PMI-CP builds governance and coordination skills

    Housing Delivery Pressure

Rental queues beyond ten years and stalled residential starts push developers to restart and de-risk housing delivery, work that rewards disciplined scope, budget and change control.

The PMI-CP builds scope, cost and risk skills

    Construction Skills Shortage

A forecast deficit of nearly 30,000 construction workers by 2040 makes credentialed project leaders scarce. The PMI-CP's advanced eligibility marks holders out in a tight market.

The PMI-CP makes certified leaders stand out

    Stakeholder and Regulatory Load

Dense urban sites mean heavy permitting, community impact and authority coordination. Stakeholder engagement is 30 percent of the PMI-CP exam, reflecting its weight on Stockholm projects.

The PMI-CP builds stakeholder engagement skills

    Sustainable and Timber Construction

Landmark projects such as Stockholm Wood City raise design, interface and compliance complexity, demanding leaders who can govern scope, quality and stakeholders across the lifecycle.

    Your Stockholm Career Transformation

Your Construction Career, Before and After the PMI-CP

    The PMI-CP Advantage

Salary capped with limited leverage to negotiate in the Stockholm market

    After PMI-CP

Eligible for senior construction roles across building, rail, infrastructure and development

    Today

Confident in delivery, but employers want proven contract and governance control

    After PMI-CP

Fluent in contract administration, claims, stakeholder engagement and project governance

    You earn your PMI-CP

    Before

Project authority resting on tenure, not a recognised construction credential

    Now you have

A PMI construction credential recognised by leading Swedish and global employers

    Before

Stuck at site level with no formal project management mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into contracts manager, project manager and construction director roles

    Before

Strong on site delivery, but exposed on contracts and disputes

    Now you have

The contract, claims and governance skills complex Stockholm projects demand

    Before

Recognition limited when you change employer, sector or country

    Now you have

A globally recognised credential that travels across sectors and markets

"The gap between running a site and leading a construction project is increasingly a recognised credential, and the employers that matter already know it."

The Construction Skills This Programme BuildsMapped to the Four PMI-CP Domains

This PMI-CP training builds practical construction project management capability across contracts, stakeholders, scope, risk and governance. By the end, you can administer contracts, engage stakeholders, control scope and govern delivery, while preparing for the PMI-CP exam.

    Contract Types and Delivery Methods

Skills covered in the PMI-CP begin with selecting contract types and delivery methods. Evaluate lump sum, cost-plus, GMP and target-cost contracts and delivery routes such as design-build and EPC, and advise on the risk allocation behind each, the core of the 50 percent contracts domain.

    Contract Administration and Claims

Administer construction contracts end to end: notices, payment applications, variation and change orders, subcontracts, and claims for delay, disruption and differing site conditions. Learn to manage disputes through to closeout, retainage and bond release.

    Construction Stakeholder Engagement

Identify and engage owners, designers, authorities, communities and end users across the project lifecycle. Build and run the engagement plan, manage regulatory sign-offs and protect the project's social licence to operate on dense urban sites.

    Strategy, Scope and Change Control

Develop the project execution plan, baseline scope and the work breakdown structure, and control scope changes. Apply critical path scheduling, earned value cost control, risk management and quality assurance to keep construction projects on track.

    Project Governance and Reporting

Establish the governance framework, decision rights and reporting cadence for a construction project. Run document control, performance reviews, audits and health checks, and maintain regulatory and ethical compliance across delivery.

    PMI-CP Exam Readiness

Prepare for the 120-question, closed-book PMI-CP exam across all four domains, and get guidance on completing the four mandatory prerequisite modules and documenting your experience for the PMI application.

    General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)?

The PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry. It validates the ability to apply project management in a construction environment across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), and requires completing four mandatory self-paced modules before applying.

Who should take PMI-CP training in Stockholm?

The PMI-CP suits construction project managers, site and project engineers moving into project management, owner's representatives, and construction consultants. It is ideal for professionals delivering Stockholm's building, rail, infrastructure and development projects who want a globally recognised construction credential.

Is the PMI-CP recognised in Sweden?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries. It is valued by Swedish contractors, infrastructure clients and developers who want a globally recognised standard for construction project management alongside local qualifications.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals?

Yes. With a national infrastructure plan running to 2037 and the Stockholm region targeting major investment by 2040, employers increasingly seek certified construction leaders. Construction project manager pay in Stockholm averages around SEK 734k, with contracts and director roles reaching higher. Talk to a learning advisor about the path.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least eight PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Stockholm?

Training fees vary by format, such as live virtual, classroom or corporate group delivery, and are available on request for Stockholm. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing and schedules.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware across the four domains, practice questions and mock exams mapped to the 120-question format, guidance on the prerequisite modules and application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI-CP exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost. The training fee covers your preparation only.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is three hours and 50 minutes. It is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats.

What are the four PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The PMI-CP exam covers four domains per the Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts management is the largest area, reflecting its weight in construction delivery.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

You may take up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams, practice questions and trainer support are designed to build your readiness before you sit the exam.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam in Stockholm?

You can take the PMI-CP exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website once your application is approved.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-CP training?

You will learn to select and administer construction contracts, manage variations and claims, engage owners, authorities and communities, control scope, schedule, cost and risk, and govern project delivery. The content maps to the four PMI-CP domains and the full construction lifecycle.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying, all candidates complete four self-paced PMI-CP modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, 56 PDUs in total.

Do I need prior construction experience for this training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the PMI-CP exam, PMI requires construction project management experience within the past 10 years, ranging from 24 to 60 months depending on your education, plus the four modules and 35 contact hours of project management education.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-CP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide, covering all four domains and construction industry practices so your preparation reflects what the exam assesses.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the 120-question, closed-book PMI-CP format, plus topic-wise checks that help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness across the four domains.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP?

You complete four mandatory modules and meet one of three sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience; a bachelor's degree with 36 months; or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months. All sets require 35 contact hours of project management education.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course in Stockholm?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Our team can guide you through the modules, eligibility and application. See upcoming batches to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, and customised corporate group training for teams. Choose the format that fits your schedule and site commitments, whether you are an individual learner or a construction organisation.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?
