How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The largest focus is the programme life cycle domain.

What are the PgMP eligibility requirements?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma: 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP, plus 84 months of programme experience. With a bachelor's degree: 48 months plus 48 months. With a GAC-accredited degree: 36 months plus 36 months. All experience must fall within the past 15 years, and a panel review applies.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI permits up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window, and re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance are built to support a confident first attempt.

What will I learn in the PgMP training?

You will learn to lead multiple related projects as a coordinated programme across the five PgMP domains: strategic programme management, programme life cycle management, benefits management, stakeholder engagement and governance, plus application and panel-review preparation.

The courseware is aligned to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline (ECO), governed by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Do I need to be a PMP before taking the PgMP?

No. A PMP is not mandatory. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which support your PgMP application and CCR renewal.
