Do I need a PMP before taking the PgMP?

What are the PgMP eligibility requirements?

There are three sets. With a secondary diploma you need 48 months of project management experience (or PMP) plus 84 months of programme management experience. With a bachelor's degree you need 48 months plus 48 months, and with a GAC-accredited degree 36 months plus 36 months, all within the past 15 years.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to build your readiness before you sit.

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?
