    Do I need prior Lean experience to attend?

    Is there an exam for this course?

    No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Lean tool exercises, waste identification activities, case examples and team discussion during the day.

    What do I receive on completion?

    You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. There is no formal credential from an external body; the value is the practical Lean toolkit you can apply immediately on the production floor.

    How is my learning reinforced during the programme?

    Through practical exercises rather than a test. You take part in a Gemba waste walk, value stream mapping, a 5S assessment, an OEE calculation and Kanban sizing, applying each tool to realistic manufacturing scenarios.

    Will the skills expire or need renewing?

    No. There is no certification to maintain and no renewal cycle. The Lean tools you learn are immediately usable and stay relevant, since Lean manufacturing is a stable, established methodology.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Lean manufacturing course cover?

    The course covers six modules: Lean foundations and the Toyota Production System, the eight wastes, value stream mapping, 5S and visual management, pull systems with Kanban, JIT and TPM, and standard work, SMED, Heijunka and Lean culture, with hands-on exercises throughout.

    How long is the training and what is the format?

    The programme runs for one day of eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-days. It is available in live virtual, classroom and corporate on-site formats, with practical exercises built into each module.

    What will I be able to do after the course?

    You will be able to run a waste walk, read and build a value stream map, plan a 5S programme, design a Kanban pull system, calculate OEE, write standard work, apply SMED and lead Kaizen improvements on the shop floor.

    Are there practical, hands-on exercises?

    Yes. Hands-on activities run throughout the day, including a Gemba-based waste classification, value stream data collection, a 5S workplace assessment, an OEE calculation and a Kanban quantity exercise using realistic production examples.

    Is the content relevant to Portuguese industry?

    Yes. The tools map directly onto Portugal's automotive, aerospace, electronics and process plants, and in corporate sessions we use your own production processes as the working example so the learning applies to your environment.
