What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PgMP worth it for professionals in Puerto Rico?

Yes. PgMP validates senior programme leadership and is valued by Puerto Rico's pharmaceutical, medical device, banking and federally funded infrastructure employers. Is PMP required before PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP certification satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle (Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen) within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area.

Yes. As a PMI credential, PgMP carries global recognition across more than 200 countries. With fewer than 3,000 holders worldwide, it is a distinctive differentiator that senior employers recognise as a benchmark for programme management excellence.

What is included in the PgMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. How much does PgMP training cost in Puerto Rico?

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members; actual fees may vary, so confirm current pricing at pmi.org. PMI individual membership (about USD 139 per year) reduces the exam fee and includes free access to The Standard for Program Management.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our training includes mock exams, an exam simulator and trainer guidance to help you prepare thoroughly before your first attempt.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or a test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), per the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented programme experience. It is a mandatory step in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

Which standard is the PgMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and aligned to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, published by PMI.

Course Content

Can I take PgMP training without senior experience?

You can enrol in the training at any stage, but sitting the PgMP exam requires substantial experience. PMI's three eligibility sets call for either 48 or 84 months of programme management experience depending on your education, all within the past 15 years. The training prepares you for the exam and application.

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus application and panel-review preparation and exam strategy.

What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, an overview of The Standard for Program Management (4th edition), templates, flashcards and topic-wise quizzes.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and an exam simulator mapped to the 170-question, four-hour format, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness.

How many contact hours does the training provide?

The instructor-led programme provides 24 contact hours across the five domains. PgMP has no mandatory contact-hour prerequisite, so these hours serve as exam preparation and knowledge consolidation for candidates who already meet the experience requirements.

What training formats are available?

What are the eligibility requirements to sit the PgMP exam?

PMI offers three sets. Set A (secondary diploma) needs 48 months of project experience or an active PMP plus 84 months of programme experience; Sets B and C (a degree) reduce the programme requirement to 48 or 36 months. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?
