Project Challenges Driving Demand for Scheduling Skills in Puerto Rico

    Reconstruction Program Complexity

More than $1.9B in FEMA and federal funds are rebuilding housing, hospitals, roads and grids, but multi-year, multi-site programs need disciplined scheduling that many teams still run on spreadsheets.

Microsoft Project brings structure to complex schedules

    Skilled Supervisor Shortage

Contractors report a shortage of project supervisors and planners, so professionals who can build and control schedules in MS Project are increasingly valuable on funded rebuild work.

Scheduling skills make planners stand out

    Regulated Pharma and Device Projects

The island's pharmaceutical and medical device plants run tightly governed capital, validation and new-product projects where accurate baselines, resource plans and progress tracking are essential.

Baselines and tracking keep projects compliant

    Energy Transition Timelines

Act 17's push to renewables and grid modernization creates large, deadline-driven energy programs that depend on critical-path scheduling and portfolio-level coordination to stay on track.

    Critical-path scheduling protects deadlines

    Resource and Cost Pressure

With labor scarce and budgets scrutinized, organizations need resource leveling, cost tracking and Earned Value data to keep projects on time and inside their approved budgets.

Leveling and Earned Value control the plan

    Fragmented Project Reporting

Leaders often cannot see true status across teams. Microsoft Project's tracking and reporting turn raw plans into clear Gantt views and dashboards stakeholders can act on.

How much does Microsoft Project training cost in Puerto Rico?

Fees vary by level, delivery format and group size, so pricing is available on request. Fundamentals and Advanced can be booked individually or together. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current schedules and options for Puerto Rico.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee includes instructor-led training across the chosen level, hands-on Microsoft Project exercises using realistic scenarios, learning materials, learner support and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Ask about what is bundled for the format you choose.

    Assessment

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal exam. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Microsoft Project exercises using realistic project scenarios, so you build proficiency by doing the work throughout the training rather than sitting a test.

Will I get hands-on practice in Microsoft Project?

Yes. Both levels are built around practical exercises. You follow live instructor demonstrations and work in Microsoft Project yourself, building schedules, assigning resources, setting baselines and generating reports as you go.

What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

After Fundamentals you can create a project file, configure calendars, build a task list with dependencies, identify the critical path, create and assign resources, spot over-allocation, set a baseline, track progress and generate built-in reports.

What does the Advanced level add?

Advanced adds task types, resource pools and leveling, cost management and Earned Value (SPI, CPI, EAC), custom fields, views and reports, master projects with cross-project dependencies, and what-if scenario planning for experienced users.

Do I receive a course completion record?

Yes. On completing each level you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning, confirming the Microsoft Project skills you have built. The skills apply immediately and do not expire or need renewal.

    Course Content

What topics does the Microsoft Project course cover?

Fundamentals covers project setup, work breakdown, task dependencies, the critical path, resources, baselines, tracking and reporting. Advanced covers advanced scheduling, resource leveling, cost and Earned Value, custom views and reports, and multi-project management.

Does the course cover resource management and Earned Value?

Yes. Fundamentals covers creating and assigning work, material and cost resources and resolving over-allocation. The Advanced level goes further into resource pools, leveling, cost tracking and Earned Value metrics such as BCWS, BCWP, SPI and CPI.

Is the course suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. The Fundamentals level has no prerequisites and is designed for people new to Microsoft Project. Basic familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office helps but is not required, and the trainer guides you through every feature hands-on.

Which Microsoft Project version does the course use?

Microsoft Project is available as Standard, Professional and Project Online within Microsoft 365. You use your own installed version during training. Confirm version and software requirements with Invensis Learning before your session.

Does the course cover managing multiple projects?

Yes, in the Advanced level. You learn to insert subprojects into a master project, create cross-project dependencies, manage resources across projects and produce program-level reports, which is ideal for PMO and portfolio work.
