Market Forces Fuelling PgMP Demand in Puerto Rico

    Federal Funds Coordination Gap

Billions in federal recovery funds are delayed by interagency bottlenecks across FEMA, HUD and DOE. Programmes of this scale need the governance and oversight PgMP is built to provide.

PgMP builds governance and coordination skills

    Pharma Reshoring Complexity

Puerto Rico's pharmaceutical comeback means many concurrent plant-modernisation and capacity projects. Coordinating them as programmes is exactly what credentialed programme leaders do.

    PgMP builds programme coordination skills

    Grid and Energy Modernisation

Island-wide energy rebuild demands risk aggregation and cross-agency coordination at scale, the kind of programme-grade prioritisation and control the PgMP curriculum develops.

PgMP builds programme risk and coordination skills

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Boards fund transformation, but weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that programme leaders are increasingly hired to close.

PgMP builds benefits and value-realisation skills

    Programme Talent Scarcity

The island's talent pool is deep in project managers but thin in credentialed programme managers. PgMP's rigorous eligibility and panel review make holders rare and sought-after.

PgMP makes certified programme leaders stand out

    Capital-Discipline Pressure

Fiscal constraints across public and private sectors push organisations to prove value, rebalance investment and sustain benefits, all core to programme-level management.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as a coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It is designed for senior programme managers, PMO heads, delivery directors and PMP holders progressing into programme leadership.

    General

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as a coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It is designed for senior programme managers, PMO heads, delivery directors and PMP holders progressing into programme leadership.

Why choose Invensis Learning for PgMP training in San Juan?

Invensis Learning is a PMI Authorized Training Partner offering PMI-aligned courseware, experienced trainers, flexible formats, and dedicated support for the PgMP application and panel review. This helps professionals in San Juan move from learning to certification along a clear, supported path.

Is the PgMP recognised in Puerto Rico?

Yes. PgMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers across Puerto Rico and worldwide, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, banks, insurers and the agencies delivering federal recovery and infrastructure programmes. Fewer than 3,000 professionals worldwide hold it.

    Is PMP required before PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience for the PgMP application.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, with a minimum of eight PDUs in each area.

    Pricing

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Request a quote for the exact inclusions.

How much does the PgMP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee in US dollars, around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members, and figures may vary. PMI membership, roughly USD 139 a year, reduces the exam fee. Confirm current fees at pmi.org before applying.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in US dollars and is not part of the training fee. Puerto Rico uses USD, so you pay PMI directly for the exam and any re-examination attempts.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing in San Juan?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, business units and leadership teams across Puerto Rico. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 multiple-choice questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is closed book and delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competence. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The passing score is determined through psychometric analysis, and results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement by domain, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

How many attempts do I get and where can I sit the exam?

You may take up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. You can sit the exam online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts.

    Course Content

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus programme roadmapping, benefits realisation, governance frameworks, application guidance and exam strategy.

Which standard and edition is the training based on?

The training is grounded in PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline. The 4th Edition standard forms the primary reference framework for the exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the exam content outline, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question format.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training, but PgMP is a senior credential. To sit the exam you must meet PMI's eligibility sets, which require several years of project and programme management experience within the past 15 years, plus a panel review.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma you need four years of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus seven years of programme experience. With a four-year degree the programme requirement drops to four years, all within the last 15 years.
